I am an English teacher at Saint Pauls High School located in Saint Pauls, North Carolina. I teach both ninth and tenth grade English. Beginning this year August 2001, I will enter my fifth year as a certified English teacher in North Carolina. While working on my undergraduate studies, I attended the University of North Carolina at Pembroke and earned a degree in English Education. I am presently a graduate student at the University of North Carolina at Pembroke. I should have my Master's in English Education this fall, 2001. I am now taking my last class in my master's program. The name of this class is ENG 516/525: Literary Journalism. In this class, I am learning about writers who first started their careers as journalist. I am also learning about the history of journalism as well. In the period link below, I have researched information about Modern Journalism from 1940 to 1960. The author link contains information about the life of Carl Sandburg and his career as a journalist and literature writer. The reflective link provides information about how journalism and literature have intersected throughout history.
