As a visual artist, Steven explores ideas of form and texture. These metaphysical forms define each other within the space creating a sense of depth and environmental awarness of the surroundings. Some works are painted on large canvasses emphasizing these "landscape environments".

In some of his past works, the albino frog is a recurring subject, often found within the landscapes. No one really knows the basis for this, however it may be considered as a suggestion for some underlying meaning.

The photographic series entitled "Diagnostic Systems Check. Ready. Status: Online" is an autobiographical account of heart monitor testing. For Steven, a pacemaker was installed in November of 2002 due to heart failure.

Steven has a BFA in Visual Art and is a certified teacher specializing in Intermediate and Senior level visual art. He has taught art in both the elementary and secondary levels. Steven currently resides in St. Catharines, Ontario.
