Henry MILLER

Farms at Mount Hawley, , Nova Scotia, Canada.


Joel SLOCOMB

Settled on his father's homestead at Mount Hanley, NS. He is fond of travel, spending the summer of 1853 in MA and the winter of 1865-66 in the West Indies and the winter of 1869-70 in Virginia. He is muscular, weighting 225 pounds and of a jovial nature. Known to all as "Squire" or "Uncle Joel". Served as Justice of the Peace.


David Landers SLOCOMB

Excelled in mathematics. Became a seaman at St. John, NS at age 18 and shipped aboard a large ship for Liverpool. by changing ships, he managed to circumnavigate the world and return home after two years. He was shipwrecked twice. Once in India and another time on Ireland, where he was one of only eight to survive of several hundred people aboard.


Norman Burpee SLOCOMB

He went to sea in early manhood. He departed NYC for San Francisco, Ca in 1866 and died 12 days out from San Francisco.
