They settled on the homestead of his father and grandfather at Sutton, MA, where they now reside.
Entered Amherst College in 1840 but was unable to complete his first year due to poor health. He graduated M.D. in Philadelphia, PA in 1846 and began practiceat Sutton, MA. In april of 1860 they removed to Ansonia, Derby, CT, where they now reside and he continues to practice medicine. He served as Assistant Surgeon in an army hospital in Alexandria, VA in 1864.
