He learned the carpenter trade with his father. In October, 1832 he went to Marietta, OH and attended three years at Marietta College. He became a prominent architect and builder in Marietta. In August, 1866 they removed to Kansas City, MO where he is engaged in fruit and vegatable gardening.
A station agent and telegrapher for the Marietta and Cincinnati R.R. in 1859.
