Charles Gardner SLOCUM

Removed to LA and enlisted in the Mexican War. After service he settled at Baton Rouge an d w as a painter. Later , he was the proprietor of a paint and paper store. He served a s a memb er of the Baton Rouge Common Council in 1850.


John William SLOCUM

Resides with motherat Baton Rouge, LA. Post office clerk and Deputy Sheriff in 1877-78.


Thomas SLOCUM

Removed with family in 1802 back to their former home of Newport, RI where he and his moth e r were baptized in the First Congrgatiuonal Church on 5 May 1805. He apprenticed at an ear l y age to a glass cutter in New York City. Married by Rev.James Culberson, Presb. Reside d i n Zanesville, Oh after marriage until 1850 when they removed to Pittsburg to be near thei r ch ildren.
