William Wallace CRAPO

Educated in the public schools at New Bedford, MA, the Phillips Academy, Andover, and Yale w h ere he graduated in the class of 1852. Studied law at Dane Law School, Cambridge, MA, an d i n the office of Hon. John H. Clifford of New Bedford, MA.Admitted to the bar in February , 1 855 and in April 1856 he was chosen Solicitor of the City of New Bedford, where he serve d fo r twelve years. He was elected to serve in the Massachusetts Legislature in 1855. He wa s ele cted to serve as Representative to U. S. Congress from the First Massachusetts Distric t in th e 44th through the 47th Congress. Chosen President of the Massechusetts Republican C onventio n, held 21 September 1881. Resides at New Bedford, MA.
