MARDAVE V12's |
Mardave
V12’s must be one of the cheapest, easiest and most fun ways to get into
R/C car racing. The cars themselves are very basic taking just a few hours
to build. The parts (if you should manage to break one!) are inexpensive
costing pence not pounds to replace.
This
class of racing was introduced to promote a limited cost class of racing
whereby the size of a person’s wallet does not dictate the performance
of the car.
The
Guidelines
There
are very few rules to speak of because you are not permitted to change the
model from kit form in many ways at all.
The only modification allowed is the addition of ball-races to the
rear axle.
This means that all the cars are equally competitive.
There
are a range of bodyshells available to fit the chassis, both from Mardave
and other aftermarket suppliers.
MARDAVE V12 - RENAULT MEGANE
A typical Mardave like the one pictured above in kit form would cost around £55. Deals are available however where you can buy a kit with radio equipment, charger and battery for around £100. It is advisable to have at least two battery packs. With an additional pack of batteries and ball-races for the rear axle this would cost in the region of £120.
