| Meet Ms. Steele |
| My name is Joy Steele. I have lived in Mooresville for 10 years with my husband and three children. My son, Nicholas is a Senior at Mooresville High School, Douglas is in 8th grade at Mooresville Middle and my daughter Shelby-Ray is in 7th grade at Statesville Christian School. In addition to my human children, I have five cats and a dog. I have worked at South Elementary for the last seven years. First, I was the Media Assistant and then worked with two third grade classes. Last year, I began working in first grade and this is the first year Ms. Jayne and I will be working together. My favorite part about working with children is their humor and excitement for learning. I love watching student's grow and learn throughout the year. Since, I live in Mooresville, I see them often outside of school and enjoy these encounters. Outside of school I am very involved with my church. I teach 9th and 10th grade Sunday school and I also teach a group of 7th and 8th grade girls on Wednesday evenings. My family keeps me busy as well. My oldest son, Nicholas is a varsity football player and we enjoy Friday Night Football. Douglas, my youngest son, is a Cross Country runner, we spend a lot of time at meets. My daughter Shelby, plays the piano and is active in our church music department. |
