My name is Sharon Jayne Plyler and I would like to welcome you to my classroom website. I am a First Grade Teacher at South Elementary School in Mooresville, North Carolina. I have been teaching First Grade for 12 years. I'm originally from Warwick, New York, where I taught at Park Avenue Elementary School.
First Grade is my favorite grade level to teach, because the students are so eager to learn. My teaching style is eclectic and I really enjoy integrating all subject areas. This year will be my fourth year teaching integrated theme units and I really enjoy encompassing different ideas and techniques through this method of teaching.
My second love in life is cooking, traveling and going to the gym. I enjoy spending time with my husband, our dog Einstein and friends. In the summer we love to waterski and travel. Einstein doesn't waterski, but we are hoping to get him to start tubing!
