Sick Day
Remember those days, when you were sick, and it actually mattered? Mom, ready with a bowl of chicken soup, dad rushing around to the store, to pick up your prescription. Well, those days are over. You're now an adult. You're expected to go to work, cook, and pick up pills, all while you're sick. Such a terrible change from the days of old, when everyone pitied you, and let you lie down, and watch cartoons all morning. Now, you're lucky if they even acknowledge the fact that you sound like a frog, and have bags under your eyes, the size of suitcases. Each cry of "Mom, I'm sick!", brings you a look of contempt, and a bottle of Dimetapp Elixir tossed at you. Snot rags, normally carried away by a grossed out mom, are now screamed about, and actually made to be carried by You, the sickling. Doctor's excuses are needed for each day off of work, not like school, where a fake stomach ache, could keep you out. Now, you're living life in the fast lane, with the rest of the over-worked losers. Yay, welcome to that well known land of Adulthood. home
