The Cassette
The LP (German version)

The soundtrack is by Junior Homrich and Brian Gascoigne, featuring mostly percussion instruments that evoke the steamy, jungly mood of the film. It was released by Varese Sarabande Records on LP, CD, and cassette. It has notes by John Boorman and some photos from the film. The songs are:

1.) Main Title / Tomme Goes Missing / Tomme and Kachiri (4:05)
2.) Tomme Searches for His Ghost Father / Bill Searches for Tomme (2:24)
3.) The Burning of the Shabana / Wanadi's Death / The Moth at the Window (2:32)
4.) The Initiation Ceremony / The Trance Dance (4:06)
5.) The Jaguar Theme (:59)
6.) The Rainstorm (2:10)
7.) The Burning of the Dead (2:58)
8.) Inside the Dam / The Waterfall / The Burning Forest (3:11)
9.) Volupia (2:43)
10.) River Paradise (1:32)
11.) End Titles-Eagle Break (3:08)

THE NOVEL:
The Emerald Forest was adapted into a novel by fantasy writer Robert Holdstock. It was published in 1985, the same year as the movie. It seems there were at least three covers: one has a painting by noted fantasy artist Jim Burns; another, published by Penguin, has a photo from the film; a third, published by Zoetrope, uses the collage familiar from the videotape and posters.

One of the color photos included in the book,
showing director John Boorman with his son.

Back cover of the Zoetrope edition.
