Mr. Border Slime

A brief explanation on the Dai no Daibouken and the Emblem of Roto manga. First of all, these are the most common DQ materials available in the US, especially the Dai manga. I bought my first Dai manga through a Previews catalog back in 1997. Dai is not directly tied to the DQ game series. It takes place in a similar world with slimes and such. Second point - Dai manga are so common they are practically worthless, in my opinion (take that as you will). They show up on eBay often but do not sell for much, if they sell at all. There is a French version of Dai called "Fly" that is apparently available in Quebec and France; I own one of these volumes.

As many DW/DQ fans know, Roto is the collective term for the first three Dragon Quest games. Each of these games is connected to the hero Loto/Roto/Erdrick. The Roto manga series is connected to Dragon Quest III (look for the bird symbol to distinguish that). It takes place 100 years after DQ3.
