Site News/Updates
Welcome to News/Updates, where you'll get to read about the News and Updates on this page. Also, although this site is a Ghostbusters II Dedication Page, I will still bring you the latest News, Information, and Happenings in the World of Ghostbusters.
                                 News:

July 17, 2001: Whew! Been a long time since I last updated The ROS. I'm terribly sorry Ghostheads, I've been busy like you wouldn't believe. Anyway, it looks like GeoCities will have to be the Server for The ROS, I've searched for many other Servers and none of them satisfied me. GeoCities I'll have to stick with. I'll be performing some maintenence and removing files I feel I don't need. I'll have to make room for more things. In other recent news, I've got some
GREAT   screen captures from Ghostbusters II thanks to Volguus. Please give him a lot of credit and visit his site!! I will be adding these pictures to The ROS sometime soon. In the meantime, here are thee incredible photos (and please don't take them without permission from both me and him!): http://users.nac.net/stantz/GBcaps/. Also, news on Ghostbusters.net: around this August it'll finally be opened! Currently Ghostbusters Central is gone but it will be replaced by GB.net, which will without a doubt be the greatest Ghostbusters site of all-time. Also be sure to check out the temporary message board there (which is very similar to Bill Emkow's board that used to be on The Ghostbusters Homepage). Sometime around next week The ROS will be back and kicking, and in August, Ghostbusters.net will finallly be up and running and Spook Central 2.0 will also be running. We have a whole lot to look forward to, Ghostheads!!!

June 9, 2001: I've decided to add a Mailing List for those who are members of
The River Of Slime Message Board. Take a look at this thread and read on. Also, I'm sorry that the WinAmp Skins on the Multimedia Page are down, but don't worry; once I find a new Server, they'll be up and running again. I also coming close to finding a new Server for The ROS; hang on tight, Ghostheads!

June 4, 2001: After being up and running for only two months, I have some big News for all of you: The River Of Slime's Server will be moved to a new one. GeoCities has been really messing up a lot of my pages and has little space. I will be moving The ROS to a Server with enough space to feed of the Energy of a City. I'll keep you posted. This is the biggest and most important update ever for The ROS...

May 30, 2001: I've decided what I am going to do about the problem: I'll re-do some pages. In particular, I will re-do the Manhattan Museum Of Art, Egon's Workshop, Character Profiles, Cast & Crew, and Slime Links pages. They will be down for a few days and in a while should be up and running again. Everything else however is up and running perfectly. The Proton Lab, Hook & Ladder No. 8 Firehouse Giftshop, Multimedia, Chatroom, Message Board, everything. Take a look around. The pages that are down are being re-done.

May 29, 2001: This is very serious News people. As I was updating the site a bit as you can see and was sprucing it up, I received a message from GeoCities (which I used to make The River Of Slime) saying that my disk space was approaching it's size limit and that certain pages wouldn't be displayed properly and that nothing else could be uploaded until I deleted some unnecessary things from my File Manager. This is bad, because all I wanted to do with the ROS was make it bigger, more interesting and original, and most importantly, more fun and enjoyable. Now after being up for (almost) only two months, it may get sucked down into the Tenth Level Of Hell. I will try to clear this up right away. I have recently been experiencing quite a bit of problems with GeoCities, so should this continue, I may have to move the ROS's Server (or worse, go to a new Site Building page and re-doing the entire thing from scratch). Once again, I will try to do something about this. In the meantime, if you want to help, e-mail me or post at the message board and give me suggestions about this problem. Tell me what should stay here and what should go, and I'll see for myself. The ROS won't be updated for the next several days because of this problem. Hopefully this'll be fixed soon and everything will be back to normal. Once again, thanks for reading, and wish me good Luck, because I'll need it if you and me want The ROS to be on the Net for many years to come...

May 5, 2001: Important News!!! The 3rd Annual Ghostbusters Awards will start very soon, and for me to win the Award for best New GB Site, I need your help!! You gotta vote for me! Head on over to
The Ghostbusters Prop Archive to see where the Awards are being Hosted. Thanks for reading and voting!!! =)

May 1, 2001: This is big News!! Sony has now granted the GB license to a Professionl Prophouse and this Prophouse covers many famous Movies. In other words, we'll be getting official Ghostbusters Props!! This is awesome News.

April 23, 2001: Sad News everyone:
Ghostbusters.net, the long-awaited Ghostbusters site that is currently Under Construction by Chad Paulson (owner of the incredible site, Ghostbusters Central) has announced that GB.net's released date has been pushed back to May 31, 2001 instead of May 7, 2001 like it was intended. Click here to see the announcement he made.

April 22, 2001: The River Of Slime's Grand Opening!!!! OK, I've got most of the sections complete but there are a few that are still Under Construction. Don't worry though, I'll be putting 'em up real soon. OK, now for the News!

Now this is big News: Ray Parker Jr., who did the
infamous Ghostbusters Theme Song, is indeed Alive and Well!!! I'm saying this because it has been a long time since he last did anything since the Ghostbusters Theme and it's great to know he's doing alright. Alright, now here's the big News: some of you Ghostheads may remember that back in 1984 (or around that time), Huey Lewis Jr. sued Ray Parker Jr. for copying the beat of his song I Want a New Drug in Parker's GB song (Parker's GB Theme Song doesn't really have any similarities, so I have no idea what Huey's problem is). The case was settled in 1995. Just what is the big News? Well sometime around last Month (or a few Months back), Behind The Music with Huey Lewis Jr. was shown on VH1 and he brought up the Lawsuit and how angry and frustrated he was having the beat of his song copied. This resulted in Parker suing Huey! Why? Because nobody was supposed to bring up the subject of the Lawsuit. Huey is the one getting sued this time!!

This is serious News. First off, any of you remember the Ghostbusters in Universal Studios Florida? They would drive around the Park in their Ecto-1 and take pictures and have fun with the Tourists and whatnot. Well, this year (or any year for that matter), don't expect to be 'Busting Ghosts in USF, because Wookie Ghostbuster from the Ghostbusters Central Message Board stated that USF may permenantly terminate the USFGBs. This is bad bad News. This is the worst thing to happen in the GB World since USF took down their awesome Ghostbusters Spooktacular show. We cannot let this happen. We have to do something about this. The best thing we can do right now is
Contact Universal Studios Florida and tell them how much we love Ghostbusters and would hate to see the USFGBs not performing. Please do so!! This is the most important News to break out into the GB World as of press time.

                  Updates:

August 8, 2001: I slightly updated the Proton Lab by adding some stills from GB2 (sorry I didn't put up any stills of the Ecto-1 and Ecto-1A, I didn't have enough room, but I'll get one of the Ecto Containment Unit from GB1 and add it as soon as possible). Also, not a major update, but I added a new movie still on the MMOA page (it's the still of the back view of the four Ghostbusters wearing their Proton Packs and Slime Blowers). And be sure to keep checking around for more updates, as later I plan on updating the Giftshop, and I'm still trying to fix the MP3s, It will take quite a while, so please be patient.

August 6, 2001: Finally got the Character Profiles page up and running. As you might've noticed, the Multimedia section is currently down. This is because the MP3s aren't working. I'll try to fix them as soon as possible. I also plan on updating the Giftshop and Proton Lab. Keep checking!

August 5, 2001: Big update. I decided to delete the pages linking to the Chatroom, Site Contact, Under Construction, Props and Links pages. I really need the space. No one seems to be using the chatroom, so I decided to delete it. Also, as you might've noticed, I decided to replace the Props and Links pages with links to other sites to conserve space. Ectoman's GB Prop Archive has plans galore and is the best source for Prop information on the GB Equipment. The links page on Proton Charging contains the most extensive amount of links to GB sites I have ever seen. Trust me, it will take you lightyears to visit every page PC has linked! The Manhattan Museum Of Art page will be up soon and I've decided to add Cast & Crew information on the Story page. Also, more updates will be here sometime soon. Hang on!

May 30, 2001: I decided to add the GB2 Script on the Story page to save space thanks to GeoCities
>:-(

May 27, 2001: Finally got the
Behind The Scenes Page up and running.

May 19, 2001: Added some cool WinAmp Skins on the
Multmedia Page. All of these Skins are thanks to Dan "Ectodude" Shannon of We Got One.com.
