Deleted Scenes From Ghostbusters II
Here you'll get some information on scenes that were deleted from Ghostbusters II. The scenes with the * next to them indicate that you can view them on the Theatrical GB2 Trailer on the GB2 DVD. Hopefully sometime in the future they'll be an Ultimate Special Collector's Edition GB2 DVD with all of these deleted scenes and tons and tons of extras!!
Two attempts by Louis to 'Bust Slimer. First he ties some Kentucky Fried Chicken legs to the Firehouse Ceiling. Then, Slimer comes out, grabs a leg, and then Louis hits the Pedal on his Ghost Trap, but Slimer flies out of the Trap's way, and the Electromagnetic Energy from the Trap destroys the Ceiling and it lands on Louis' work desk. The second scene has Louis faking a Pizza Delivery. Slimer flies down the Ceiling and Louis tries to blast him with his Proton Pack, but Slimer escapes once again and the Particle Stream barely misses hitting Janine, who was carrying a stack of files. Take note that during one of the scenes, Louis has a small Mirror attached to his Glasses so he could keep track of Slimer. Then Slimer smiles at the Mirror. That scene with Slimer smiling at the Mirror is one of the many deleted scenes in GB2 that appears in the ending credits.
The scene during the Victory Montage where the Ghostbusters 'Bust the Jogger Ghost was actually an entirely seperate scene. Ray & Peter watch him runs laps all around the Park, then Ray zaps him and Peter Traps him. Peter than says "He Finished That Last Lap In Six Minutes!". Ray replies "If He Weren't Dead He'd Be An Olympic Prospect". A part during this scene where Ray & Peter slap each other a high five can be seen during the ending credits.
During the Chaos Montage, when we see an enormous Reptillain Monster roaring through an Archway in Manhattan, originally the Monster was a Giant Skeleton.
There was an additional scene that was removed from the Chaos Montage. It involved a Subway Train stopping and the Passengers are told by the Conductor that it's only a "Technical Difficulty". Then, two Attendants inspect the Subway Tracks and encounter a huge, Frog-like Monster with a nasty and Slimy tongue (the Monster is pictured above). This was meant to be one of the scariest scenes in Ghostbusters II, but it was deemed too funny when outtakes with the frightended Attendants were taken.
*Egon uses some sort of PKE Meter to detect floating Crystals during the Jewelry store scene.*
Egon & Ray Experiment with the Mood Slime a bit more. They where Headgear with Wires connected to the Bowl with the Mood Slime in it and they insult each other and swear. They then start to say nice things, and Egon takes readings of the Mood Slime with his Gigameter.
Before the Statue Of Liberty sequence, when the Ghostbusters are at the Slime-encased Manhattan Museum Of Art, after they fire their Particle Streams as they try to break the Slime wall, Venkman asks several Firefighters outside the Museum if they know Cumbaya. Several raise their hands, then Venkman has them line up and sing. Ray peers at the Slime Wall with his Ecto-Goggles and spots a crack in the Slime smaller than a needle. Venkman gets annoyed, walks off, and then yells "The Vienna Boys Choir Couldn't Get This Thing Open!".
A scene where the Ghostbusters are in the Ecto-1A and Ray drives it. He goes into some sort of a frenzy and drives like a Lunatic, taking lots of hard turns and running lights. He is stopped then "wakes up". He was probably somehow possessed By Vigo. Take note that a tiny bit of this scene that has the Ecto-1A taking a hard turn and then the Camera cuts to the Ghostbusters in the backseat with startled expressions on their faces can be seen during the Victory Montage.
That goofy Commercial seen during the Victory Montage with Janine & Louis portraying a couple that is Haunted by a Ghost was a little longer and funnier.
*When the Slime starts growing all over the MMOA and encases it, originally it was a lot pinker, more Slimier looking, and was splashing all over the Museum.*
Venkman starts dancing around in a very funny manner. Take note that this scene can be seen during the ending credits of GB2.
An tiny bit of the scene when the GBs first Experiment with the Mood Slime and the Toaster. Egon moves his hands and dances along with the Toaster. Take note that this scene appears during the ending credits of GB2.
Although these scenes aren't reallly deleted scenes, there are changes of dialog with Peter in the Courtroom scene in the Television Broadcast version. He says "Sometimes Weird Things Happen" instead of "Sometimes $h!t Happens" and when he speaks with Mayor Lenny after the Resturant scene, he says "There Are About Three Million Completely Wretched Walking Worms In This Town" instead of "There Are Three Million Completely Miserable A$$holes Living In The Tri-State Area".
A scene with Egon in the Museum smiling. This scene appears during the ending credits.

Ray & Peter are in the Ecto-1A and meet up with Egon.
Back to The River Of Slime
*The four Ghostbusters stand outside of the Slime-Encased MMOA and Mayor Lenny and his bumbling assisstant Jack Hardemeyer meet up with the GBs. Ray warns Lenny that if they don't do something about the problem by Midnight, Lenny will go down in History as the Man who let New York get sucked down into the Tenth Level of Hell.*
Following the previous deleted scene mentioned (Ray warning Lenny), Hardemeyer is disgusted with Lenny's decision and to prove that the Ghostbusters are lying and are frauds, he bangs the Slime Wall, and gets sucked in. He then (supposedly) flies out. Please take special note that this scene has been rumored, but not confirmed. There are many different versions of this scene I have heard, and most of the Ghostbusters sites I visited that had information concerning the deleted scenes from Ghostbusters II didn't have this scene listed.
Much like the ending of Ghostbusters, in the very final shot, when the Camera is circling all around the Statue Of Liberty, Slimer flies towards the Camera and then the screen fades to black, and the ending credits roll. This scene was featured in the Theatrical Release of GB2, but for some odd reason does not appear on the Video, DVD, nor when GB2 is shown on Television.
A shot of Judge Wexler scanning the destroyed Courtroom after the Scoleri Brothers are 'Busted. Appears during the ending credits of GB2.
A shot of The Prosecutor outside the Courtroom being treated for injuries after the Scoleri Brothers Battle. Appears during the ending credits of GB2.
The four GBs running through some heavy Traffic and wielding their Proton Packs. This is yet another scene that appears during the ending credits.
Much like the scene with the Ghost Jogger, there was an entirely seperate scene involving Louis & Slimer. First, Louis sees the Firehouse's Doors and goes through one of them, only to get confused by which way he is going and keeps going through the same door and finally realizes that he was going through the same door. Next, he walks down the Hallway and shouts to Janine "Janine, Lunch!". Then, he smells something really nasty and says "Boy It Smells Like Somebody Took a Big..." and then he spots Slimer, who is eating Louis' Lunch. Louis is freaked and drops onto the ground, while Slimer just flies away. The bit with Louis going through the door over and over again appears during the ending credits and Slimer eating Louis' Lunch appears during the Victory Montage.
When the Ghostbusters arrive at the Slime-Encased MMOA, they see Firefighters using all sorts of Demolition tools to tear down the Slime Wall, but their tools have no effect. The GBs decide to try to use their Proton Packs on the Slime. Then the Fire Captain walks up to the GBs and says in a skeptical tone of voice "Be my Guest. We been cutting here for three Hours. What the Hell's going on? You know the Titanic arrived this Morning?". Venkman replies "Well... better late than never". The "better late than never" line was said by Cheech Marin upon the arrival of the Titanic during the Chaos Montage.
A shot of Winston gearing up in the Ecto-1A Garage. Another scene shown during the ending credits.
A shot of Jack Hardemeyer partying with some people outside the MMOA. Appears during the ending credits.
A shot of Venkman searching his Refridgerator. Apears during the ending credits.
Ray smiling during the Mood Slime Test. Appears during the ending credits.
Dana smiling at Oscar during the scene where Ray & Egon inspect Oscar. Can be seen during the ending credits.
During the scene in Ray's Occult where Peter, Ray & Egon reunite, Ray reads a Book to Peter and tells him about a Man who caused a Flower Cart to Levitate 150 Feet.
A shot of Ray handing Janine some Smoking Ghost Traps and the four Ghostbusters next to the Ecto-1A. Appears during the ending credits.
A shot of Janosz next to the Vigo Painting. Appears during the ending credits.
*During the Courtroom Battle with the Scoleri Brothers, a shot of the Particle Streams from the Particle Throwers blasting a hole in a Wall in the Courtroom was deleted.*
An extended scene with in the Courtroom with Ray insisting his discovery of the Slime River was real. Judge Wexler is also more angry and furious.
During the first inspection of the Vigo Painting in the Museum, the Ghostbusters have a longer argument with Janosz.
A scene with the Ghostbusters in a Room while spending time at the Parkview Mental Hospital talking about the End Of The World. Then Louis comes in and convinces one of the Hospital Employees (Sherman Tully, Louis' Brother) to free the GBs.
A scene with Janosz painting some Satanic Symbols on Clothing for Oscar to prepare for Vigo's Arrival and for The Season Of Evil.
Following the defeat of Vigo, and after the Ghostbusters step outside of the Museum, Mayor Lenny tells the GBs to remove Lady Liberty from the front of the Museum and to put her back on her Pedestal on Liberty Island, but the GBs refuse and threaten to leave the Statue in front of the Museum unless the Mayor pays the bill for all of the Damage caused.
After the Celebration on Liberty Island following the defeat of Vigo, the four Ghostbusters along with Dana look up at Lady Liberty and discuss their Native Backgrounds.
A rumored scene with a small talk between Dana & Peter before Peter (along with Ray & Egon) attends the Trial.
A rumored scene that shows a Flashback of Judge Stephen Wexler sentencing Tony & Nunzio Scoleri for Murder and sending them off to be executed via the Electric Chair up at Ossining in 1948.
A rumored scene that has Winston in the Van Horne Pneumatic Transit Station with Ray & Egon shouting "I Can't Swim!" right before he falls into The River Of Slime.
A rumored scene that shows Vigo back in 1505 painting the Painting of him before he was killed.
Lenny walks up to the Ghostbusters outside the MMOA. Can be seen during the ending credits.
