Last year I had a dream, But only 2 weeks ago, It wasn't a dream anymore it
became real, On the 11/08/01, Celtic played Hearts, And I was there to see them
win 2 - 0, The venue - Celtic Park, The attendance - 58.423, The competition -
SPL, The scorer - Larsson, Need you ask.
Its a funny story that I' m going to share with you, I had been swimming at
Motherwell, And there was 2 hours till kick off, Me & my mate (Shaun) planned to
make the trip to Celtic Park, To watch the game, Only one problem - we had no
tickets, Never the less we caught the train to Glasgow Central, From there we
went to the nearest bus stop, Where I asked if we could get a bus to Celtic
Park, Where a man reply yes, He said we could tag along with him and his
girlfriend to Celtic Park, As I had no idea where it was, (I had never been
before), I asked this guy, If he knew anyone would could sell me some tickets
for the game, He asked round his mates on the bus but no luck, After about 10
minutes on the bus the guy told me to turn round, and there was a man walking
along the street on his way to the game with his hand in the air and about 5 - 6
tickets, I thanked him for his help, And jumped of the bus, As the man had got
away a bit while the bus stopped and me and my mate got off, I ran as fast as I
could to gain up with the guy and these tickets, These tickets I need and want
so much, I had left Shaun for dust, In my mission to catch up with the guy, I
did after about 2 full minutes of running and I was out of breath, I went up to
him and asked for two tickets sitting together, I got them, It was like I had
just found a gold bar, I realised my dream was becoming real, So with the tickets
safely in my pocket we carried on with all the other Celtic fans, I had never
seen so many, (As I' m from England, But I'm Scottish) My head was buzzing, We
stopped to buy a scarf and a Celtic flag, The stadium was getting closer, My
heart was beating faster, Got in at the Lisbon Lion Stand, Then there was a 8
block set of stairs to climb, It was like a stairway to heaven, Finally got
there in our seats and we was late, Missed the first 10 minutes of the game, I
realised I had missed THE HUDDLE, I was upset about it, But I stopped to think,
Wait I' m in Celtic Park, My dream is real, Wake up man.
I always wanted to sing the Celtic songs, Shout "Lubo, Lubo, Lubo" when he
stands over a corner, And shout and swear when the ref calls fouls the wrong
way, cheer the team on & I have now, And that memory will be with me forever.
We were lucky to get tickets at the last moment to a sell out game.
