Featured Team of the Week:
The Indiana Eagles

By: Nick Alicea

The original Indiana Eagles feature many players who have had success, in other cities. Both Tyler Globe and Ben Lapointe have made some costly trades, losing players that would be extremely successful. Just from this past season, some of the All-ABL Team players traded away from the Eagles are Julian Dunas (1st), Jack Harris (3rd), Javier Tedesco (1st), Osvaldo Iniguez (1st), Marc Poles (1st), Michael Taisho (3rd), and Lionel Couch (3rd). Right there includes 3 very good pitchers, a great set-up man, and a very good bulk of the infield. However, all are making their marks elsewhere in the ABL.

Did you know? In 2004, 31 different players played at least one game for the 2004 Indiana Eagles. On the 2007 roster, only 3 are left from that team: SP Leo Rodriguez, MR Alfredo Macedo, and C Walter Wright.

Indiana has a career record of 161-325 (.331). That's dead last for any of the original ABL teams. They have never had a batter hit over 18 HR's, or a pitcher get more than 13 wins in a season. In fact, no pitcher has won 10 games since 2004. The top 3 pitchers in hits allowed in a season were pitchers from Indiana.

Indiana is the epitome of rebuilding in the ABL. Ben Lapointe has traded for prospects several times but then makes a surprising trade for a veteran. Maybe Lapointe's Eagles will be good someday, but that's not any time soon.
