PROCEDURE

HNDM Program

This is the Four Years study program. The first two years lectures will be held on weekdays and 50% English medium, last two years lectures will held on weekends and practical Management training on weekdays. The last two years lectures totally in English medium. After second year, student will be divided and dedicated to two specialization modules (Marketing & IT) and those particular groups will be combined to a common module as well.  The students performance of the proposed program shall be evaluated based on continuous assignments plus monthly Constrained. The Examinations held at the mid & end of each academic year as semester system .

Continuous Assignments

At Least two assignments per each year in respect of each subject, are to be completed by each student.

Project Report

During the third year and the final year each candidate is expected to prepare and submit a project report based on a selected topics. A supervisor has to be appointed to guide the student to conduct the project and prepare the project report.

Examination Procedures

The year end and mid year  time constrained examinations should be conducted  by the Director-General of SLIATE. The  final year Examination is conducted by the commissioner General of Examination of Sri Lanka. A weightage of 70% of marks shall be allocated the year end and mid year examination of the each academic year, 30% of marks should be allocated to continuous assignment.

Allocation Marks

The Total marks allocated for each subject is as follows;

Continuous Assignment 30% Year end & mid Year time constrained examination    70%

Course work shall be through assignment based  on take home assignments at common level and the corresponding marks shall be sent to the examination unit one month before the examination is commenced.

Level of Performance

The level of performance of students should be grade as follows;

A 75% - 100% Super Merit Pass
B 65% - 74%  Merit Pass
C 55% - 64% Credit pass
D 40% - 54% Ordinary Pass
E 30% - 39% Weak Pass
F 30% and below Fail

    Requirements for a Pass with a Merit

  • Merit passes will be awarded based on the weighted average.     The on the weighted average will be calculated by adding 25% of each year's first attempt average.

  • Those who have passed all the subjects and scores a weighted average of not less than 75% in their first attempts are awarded a Supper merit certificate.

  • If the average is in the range of 65% - 74% they are awarded a merit certificate

    Training Procedure

  • The duration of practical management training for the students will be 12 months in the third year.
