As a kit, he was hell on four feet but when he reached adulthood he turned out to be a loveable lap ferret with a gentle personality and always had kisses to give us. He was wonderful with all our other ferrets. Poko touched the heart of everyone he met. He loved the outdoors and we took him for long walks in the woods. Poko was certainly spoiled and was especially close to Arita.
Poko as a breeder, fathered 47 wee ones including the miracle babies. His kits turned out to be a "chip off the old block" Most of his kits were placed as pets but a few did have litters of their own so his bloodline lives on.
Poko never had a sick day in his life and always passed his annual check ups. Then in January 2007, Poke just did not look himself. After a lab analysis we found he was in the final stages of renal failure. There was little we could do to extend his life but give him lots of love and affection.
Poko lives on in his kids, grand kids, his great grand kids and generations to follow. Poko will live in our hearts forever.
Poko passed away peacefully in Arita's arms.
