Carolyn Keene Deceased?...I don't think so. Let me lay out the facts and let you decide. For many years there have been vicious rumors that the Nancy Drew Mysteries were written by a "conglomerate" of authors. This is just what I said before... a vicious rumor. Let me explain. Many years ago Ms Keene and her lovable cat Snoball were the unfortunate witnesses of a top secret project labeled as Lazarus. Ms Keene and Snoball are now members of the witness protection program living in seclusion. I know what you are saying...She and Snoball would be long since deceased and hey doesn't she look an awful lot like Betty Crocker? Well yes...but that is only to protect their identities. What better way to blend in (well yes the pun is intended) than to be on millions of boxes of cake mix. Essentially making herself so well known that she therefore becomes invisible. As for the Lazarus project, well evidently it freezes you in time so to speak. I of course being an uninformed individual have no way of knowing exactly what is in the top secret Lazarus folder now being stored in an unknown warehouse somewhere outside of D.C.
