The legend of espers goes something like this. During the great war which reshaped Eden for all time. A few of those who were fighting for the relecis of power began to break another rule of the ancestrals. They began to experiment with dimensional tears. After a time it is said they were able to develope the power to call forth incredible beings of more power than this world had ever seen. Unfortuneatly the best the could do when it came to controlling these beings was to open a tear long enough for a being to come through and allow them to unleash thier power on the first thing they saw. So those who used this power eventually learned to open the tear in front of them so the first thing the "Esper" (as they are now called) saw was whoever they were fighting. They also developed the ability to control which Esper they called forth by changeing the form of the tear.
