Mike Sledge was born and raised in the small town of Stoner, British Columbia, Canada. And from the first time he saw pro wresting on the television he was hooked. He grew up idolizing such stars as Bret Hart, Davey Boy Smith, Randy Savage and Ricky Steamboat. He was drawn to such stars not because of their favoring to the fans, but rather because of the workmanship and skill they showed in the squared circle. It was stars such as these that made the "Maniac" decide at an early age that he too would someday be a pro wrestler.

The same passion for wrestling was also held by Brad Bones, who also was born and raised in Stoner and grew up a few houses down from Sledge. The two instantly became friends and decided that together they would study the art of wrestling and semi train each other for a future in wrestling.

In 1998, a wrestling federation by the name of Extreme Canadian Championship Wrestling made a trip to the city of Prince George to put on a wrestling show, and Bones and Sledge decided to make the trip to Prince George to watch. It was there that a man working security for the group approached them and stated that he was starting up a wrestling federation in Prince George and inquired whether they would be interested in joining up. Sledge and Bones instantly agreed and in the summer of 1999, they began pro wrestling training under the guidence of the man who worked security and later became known as Billy Mason, "Mr. Superstar".

After training for about a year, the two finally made their pro debut together as a tag team called the Masters of Mayhem on December 10, 2000. And their first match was against a team called The Pain Killaz, Pill and Stric 9. A major feud was started between the two teams over who the best team in the M.W.A. was and for nearly four months the two teams brutally assaulted each other in hopes to prove their dominace in the tag team division. And while Bones and Sledge put up a galant fight in every match, they just never could get the best of The Pain Killaz.

So in late April of 2001, frustrated with the direction the Mayhem was headed in, "Bad" Brad Bones attacked Sledge and joined Racer X and "Primetime" Franky Styles in creating the A-Team. This was the end of the Masters of Mayhem but not the end between Sledge and Bones. After Bones stabbed him in the back, Sledge let it be known that his goals were set on eliminating Bones, who was now known as "Rad" Brad, from pro wrestling.

So the stage was set for a major matchup between the former Masters of Mayhem and they finally met one on one on June 7, 2001 at "Redemption". The match was a Last Man Standing Match where the only way to win was to knock your opponent out for a ten count. Right from the begining of the match Sledge and "Rad" Brad tore into each other trying not only to win the match but to seriously injure one another. In the end, it was Sledge who came out on top. And not only did he knock Brad out for the ten count, but he also knocked him out of pro wrestling all together as, due to the injuries he sustained in that match, "Rad" Brad immediatly retired from the sport.

Now, with new found confidence in himself and the support of the fans behind him, Sledge was awarded a shot at the M.W.A. North-Western champion Madd Rapper Mike. After a hard fought match, Sledge emerged victorious and the new North-Western Champion. From there, Sledge went on a streak of sucessful title defences that saw him defeat many of the top stars in the M.W.A. It wasn't until September of 2001 that Racer X ended his title reign by pinning Sledge for the title. The reign of Racer X, however, was short lived as three weeks later Sledge regained the title at "Payback".

After "Payback" though, the fans of the M.W.A. started to not cheer Sledge on as much. They would chant other, more popular wrestlers names during his matches. Angered by this, Sledge lashed out at the fans stating that they should be chanting his name rather than others and told all of the M.W.A. fans to go to hell!!! He then formed an alliance with his longtime arch enemy, the hated Stric 9, and the two went on to make life quite miserable for some of the fan favorites of the M.W.A. While doing this, Sledge got the attention of the extremely popular Slammer, and the two were booked to fight each other at "Christmas Carnage" in a strap match for Sledge's North-Western title. And even with the help of "the baddest man in the M.W.A" Stric 9, Slammer was not to be stopped on this night and he pinned Sledge for the title.

Then in March of 2002, Sledge started up The Faction, a feared stable of wrestlers consisting of Sledge, Stric 9, Pill, and Road. While the group enjoyed moderate success, it wasn't long until Sledge decided a change was in order and with the help of Road he viciously attacked and injured Pill and Stric 9. Neither of them has returned to the M.W.A. as of yet. So now with The Faction being only Road and Sledge, the path was clear for them to challenge for the tag-team titles. On July 11, 2002 The Faction beat S&M in a Tag-Team Tables match for the Tag Titles and continue to hold them.l

Currently Mike Sledge and Road continues to make life hard for all of the fan favorites of the M.W.A. What does the future hold in store for the "Maniac"... we'll just have to wait and see!!!
