2007-2008
FREE NHL REGULAR SEASON HOCKEY POOL
Rules
1.
During the 2006-07 NHL regular season participants in the pool
will pick one (1) team to win each Saturday that there is an NHL game being
played.
2. There will be an upper ‘pick’
cap on the number of times a team can be selected; three (3) picks maximum. There will not be a lower cap
on team selection. If a team is picked more than 3 times it will be
considered a non-pick.
3. It is up to the individual to
submit their own pick unless a previous arrangement has been made with the pool
Commissioner.
4. Your pick must be submitted to
the pool Commissioner,
5.
A non-pick will be given a LOSS and awarded zero (0) points.
6.
The person who accumulates the most points over the course of the
regular season will be considered the pool winner.
7.
In the instance of a tie, at any position in the standings and at
any time over the duration of the pool, please refer to the “Tie Breakers”
section below.
Scoring
Points will be awarded (added or subtracted from your total)
based on the differential in points of the final score of the game of the team
that you chose. Here are a couple of examples:
WIN EXAMPLE (points added): You picked PIT to beat ATL. The final
score is 6 to 2 for PIT. You would get 4 points added to your
total score (6-2 = +4 points).
LOSS EXAMPLE (points subtracted): You picked TOR to beat BOS. The final
score is 5 to 4 for BOS. You would get 1 point subtracted from
your total score (4-5 = -1 point).
Bonus Points
An additional one (1) point will be awarded weekly to each member
of a division when ALL members of a division win their own game.
Therefore, to help your fellow division members, make sure you submit a pick
every week to increase your division’s chance for winning the weekly bonus
point.
Prizes
Since its going to be free, BRAGGING
RIGHTS are all that I have to offer. The reigning champion is Jason Waechter.
Tie Breakers
In the event that there are participants who are tied the
following shall be considered the order to break the tie:
a.
The fewest number of ‘NON’ picks.
b.
The total number of points less the total number of bonus points.
c.
The total number of WINS.
d.
The person who has highest differential WIN.
If there is still a tie, the winner will be the person with the most
occurrences of the highest differential WIN. If still tied, repeat above
with the next highest differential WIN…and so on…
e.
Whoever has the longest WIN streak at any point during the pool.
