It was an unfortunate night for the visiting team from Hougang. They were 'robbed' of their first away win of the season and got a player sent off for dissent. The game ended 1 - 1.
With the game ending less than a minute, player coach Vlado Bozinoski from Clementi scored a controversial equaliser from a superb freekick just outside the penalty box.
Many were stunned by the decision made by the FIFA Assistant Referee Nordin Sawodi. He claimed that the ball from the freekick had crossed the goal line after it came off hitting the crossbar of the goal post.
The Dolphins protested strongly against it. In the process, Norisham Musahar was sent off for dissent and a yellow card for Thomas English.
The game only brought to life when midfielder Norisham Musahar who deputised for injured captain Anthony Carbone in the middle of the field scored a great goal. He placed the ball beyond the reach of young keeper Subash Nair neatly into the left bottom of the goal in the 57 minutes of the game.
The move first started by young striker Firdaus Salleh who beat three defenders by his great dribbling skill. Then danger man Thomas English drew away and created space for Firdaus Salleh to pass a perfect through ball to Norisham Musahar who made no mistake in putting the ball into the net.
The Elephants turned offensive after the goal. Man of the match Vlado Bozinoski decided to move up to support the strike forces. It paid off. He himself scored a brilliant freekick.
Marine Castle's stubborn defending could do little to prevent the disputable goal scored by the home team.

Match Details
By Jeremy Lim
The much talked-about Tampines' Brazilian import, Adriano Rios, was named in the match report for the wrong reason when he was sent off in the 87th min. Adraino lost his senses by making a rash tackle at Ibrahim Nor at the 87th min. The red card, in short summarised Tampines Rovers' frustrations. No matter how expensive and impressive the Brazilians are, they were disappointed by the performance of their fellow teammates, against the surprise outfit of the season - Sembawang Rangers. Like what they are famous for, the Brazilians could dribble all day or place a series of clever passes. But once they got forward to the Stallions defense, they were either outnumbered by the Stallions or their teammates just could keep up the good work dished out by them. Most of their enterprising move was seldom a real threat to the Stallions defense. However, the Stags did have their chances, especially the huge amount of dangerous free kicks that were given away unnecessarily by the host. Free kick expert from Tampines, Joselito Da Silva, tried once in the 7th min but the ball failed to dip under the Yazid Yasin's cross bar. The rest of the free kicks were just not up to the mark.
On the other hand, the Stallions was a different outfit. Coming from a very impressive first round shocking win over Singapore Cup champion Home United, they made sure that last Saturday's victory was no fluke. As early as the 2nd min, a M. Ramesh's cross from the right was met by Thai forward, Bamrung Boonprom. His sliding leg was just enough to divert the ball past the former Stallions keeper Noorisham Zanion who failed to collect the ball. Despite the early setback, the visitors tried to equalize and their efforts finally paid off through a corner kick in the 10th min. Azlan Alipah was left totally unmarked to head the ball into the Stallions net from a corner kick by captain Lee Man Hon. However, it also signaled the end of Tampines Rovers' resurgent. In the 32nd min M Ramesh broke free on the right with Noorisham to beat. He tamely shoots straight to the keeper. Still going strong, the Stallions continued to look for the winning goal. A cross on the left after a long run by Tawachai found an unmarked Bamrung Boonprom. He tried to get it round Noorisham but the helpless keeper had to bring the dangerman down illegally. Referee Timothy Dennison did not hesitate to point to the spot. Rangers' skipper Tawan Sripan converted the penalty easily with Noorisham diving the wrong direction.
The early part of 2nd half continued from where it left off in the 1st half with Sembawang continued to counter-attack whenever the Stags lost the ball in the midfield. And in the 50th min, Ismail Fitrey intercepted a poor back pass by Sead Muratovic. He ran the whole 35 metre before crossing to an unmarked Bamrung, but the Thai striker's shot went wide.
Tampines did have the lion's share of procession in the 2nd half as they tried to break up the Stallions defence with their passing game. But the fitter Stallions were just too disciplined for the Stags to break through. With the Stallions so quick on the counters, Tampines had to hesitate in moving forward for the equalizer. With time running out for the Stags, the fitter Stallions found themselves getting past the Stags with so much ease. Everyone at Yishun Stadium was expecting Stallions to go for the kill. To make the matter worse, Adriano was shown the red card just minutes before the final whistle.
But in the end, a 2-1 victory was sufficient to earn 3 points for the Stallions. The burning question is everybody's mind is, will they continue such a fine run against the mighty SAFFC next week?

The win last night propelled Woodlands Wellington FC (Rams) to 3rd position on the league table. A position that has eluded them for a long time.
The Rams put up their own performance befitting of an Oscar by taking the game to the Gombak United FC (Bulls). Dominating the entire game for the first 30 minutes, the Rams took control of the midfield with Jeykanth Jeyapal on the left, Ivica Raguz and Faizal Sa’audi in the middle and ex Jurong player Nor Azman Hussain on the right. The 2 wingers tormented the Bulls' defence comprising of Bah Mamadoe, Choketawee Promut, Zulkarnaen Sulker and Roy Yeo with their good reading and pace.
The score line would have been greater had Esad Sejdic not fumbled the chances created for him in the 8th and 12th min by co-striker Josko Parac with only the Stephen Ng to beat. On one occasion he shot wide and one the other, he headed the ball skyward.
In the 20th minutes, Jeykanth Jeyapal intercepted a clearance on the far left of the field near the third quarter. He then delivered a prefect cross into the Bulls' penalty area. Josko Parac rose above everyone and with a glancing header directed the ball into net.
The Rams continued their rampage but could not produce anymore goal for the remaining 25 minutes. However the action on the field was enough to give the fans good value for their money.
The Rams continued to press hard at the Bulls' goal and in the 48th minutes, they were robbed of a legitimate penalty. Choketawee Promut handed the ball in the box while trying to clear an attempt by Josko but the referee waved play on.
The lack of co-ordination in the Bulls' defence showed again in the 53rd minutes. This time the provider comes in the form of Nor Azman Hussain. The nippy winger cross the ball from left near the bye line into the penalty area. Believe it or not, 3 Rams players were left unmarked behind the entire Gombak defence and the Josko Parac headed the ball in for his second goal of the season.
Before the Bulls can find their feet after the restart, the provider turn goal scorer this time. Nor Azman intercepted a poor clearance by the Gombak defenders again, he side-stepped two opponents and hit a powerful low shot past Stephen Ng.
The Bulls turned aggressive after this and charged at the Rams goalmouth. They change their tactic and began firing shots from 30 meters out. The change pay off. The first shot fired by Diallo Abdoulaye found the net in the 61st minutes.
Jorg Steinbrunner did the same a few minutes later but Faizal Sa'audi saved his shot off the line. However, it was too late for the Bulls to recover and they handed the match to the Rams.
The match ended 1-3 and the Rams faithfuls gave the players a standing ovation after game. A gesture that they have not done for a long time.

Geylang United showed tonight that they are serious contender for 2001 NTUC Income S.League title as they defeat the visiting Tigers in an exciting match played at the Bedok Stadium.
The Eagles were given an early chance in the 4th minute when they were awarded with a free kick in the middle of the park. Billy Bone floated the ball into the box and Brian Bothwell, left unmarked by the Balastier players, was the first to greet it. Unfortunately the Englishman headed the ball wide. It did not take long for the host to register their opening goal. Noor Ali's shot in the 10th minute was rebounded from the crossbar, but Bothwell was first to react by rising above defenders to head home
In the 43rd minute, Brian Bothwell received a well taken corner kick, he headed the ball toward the goalmouth but the ball went inches over the crossbar.
The Balastier defense was caught sleeping again in the 46th minute when Aleksandar Duric, was left unmarked to take his shot at goal after receiving a cross from Bothwell. Fortuately for the visitors, it was not on target.
Debutant, 19 year old Nigerian striker Itimi Owepa, had an unimpressive evening as the Balastier strike force simply could do nothing mych to trouble the steady Geylang defense marshaled by veteran Kadir Yahaya. Balastier continued to fumble as they lost control of the midfield, giving to much space in midfield to the likes of Billy Bone, Noor Ali and Basri Halis.
Credit, however must be given to the Tigers' defense as they managed to keep the score line down to only one goal. The Tigers did had their chances at Shahril Jantan's goal, but they just could not convert the chances into goal! Balastier did have the ball in the net twice in the 54th and 91st minutes but their efforts were not authorised by referee Sagadevan.
But the conclusion at the end of the game was, sad to say that, Balastier was simply not in the same league as the Eagles as they were outplayed in almost every department. It was almost a miracle that Geylang did ended the game with a
bigger score line.
Said Balestier coach P N Sivaji after the match, "We were lucky in the first half not to go down with more goals. We did have our chances in the second half. But I am pluzzed why our goals were disallowed."

The spanking new, majestic yellow Choa Chu Kang Stadium took away the spotlight from this much-promised battle between the two uniformed groups Singapore Armed Forces Football Club and Home United. Traditionally this encounter would be THE talking point but somehow SAFFC's new home stadium took centrestage in its S.League debut game. What turned out later in the game was probably a stark contrast from the bright outlook of the atmosphere in the stadium.
Much was expected from the star-studded teams of SAFFC and Home United but the game turned out to be just another of the SAFFC-Home United annual tug-of-war. Bland and tasteless.
It took some time for the Warriors to gain footing. In fact it took them the whole first half to get acquainted with their new home ground. Strangely it was Home United who looked more at home(pun intended) in the first half as the ever dangerous Peres de Oliveira controlled the middle of the park well and speedy Harun Jumaat on the left, laying on golden opportunities to twin strikers Jacksen Tiago and Egmar Goncalves. Alas, Egmar had only one acrid shot that was well saved by SAFFC custodian Rezal Hassan as early as in the 5th minute. To rub salt to Home United, Jacksen was a disappointment, fluffing 2 clear sitters.
Probably what took much from the game in the first half was the cheap fouls committed which indirectly interrupted the flow of the game. The game turned into a drab affair, which left spectators with no choice but to turn to the Home United cheerleaders and the Police band to provide them with the much-needed entertainment. Not too bad though. As the teams trooped into the dressing room during half time it was clear from everybody's faces that the game needed a goal.
It didn't take long. Though it is sad the champions needed a penalty to break the deadlock early in the second half to pull away from the Protectors. The home fans in their seats, as dormant as their heroes on the field, sprang to life when referee N.Santhan blew for a penalty after Lions sweeper Aide Iskandar handled a Nazri Nasir chip into the box. Mirko Grabovac grabbed his 2nd goal of the season as he put away the resulting penalty coolly to give the Choa Chu Kang Stadium its first pounding.
Just 5 minutes later SAFFC got a freekick at the edge of the penalty area. Hafizat Jauharmi curled a sweet left-footer past the Protectors wall which beat Adi Salleh and rocked the underside of his crossbar. The ball bounced back to play and Thai wonderboy, Kiatisuk 'Zico' Senamuang, appeared from nowhere to nod the ball to the back of the goal before the whole Home United backline could even blink. Instinctive finisher he is, he proved to be a real delight for the fans.
Home United, shell-shocked by the 2 quick goals coming against the run of of play, then took Jacksen out rightfully and sent in Singapore's own wonderboy Indra Sahdan Daud but with service slacking from the middle, he could not do much. SAFFC held out just enough to maintain a flattering scoreline and should be more than happy that a below-par performance still was enough to come out of the battle unwounded and victorious.

Football is a very funny game. In a twist of event, Tanjong Pagar United FC (Jaguars) moved to the top of the league table by beating Jurong Football Club (Cobras) 5-1 in their first home game on goal difference.
The game also produced the first hat trick of the season by Davor Dzelalij. He scored in the 47th, 52nd and 59th minutes.
Suttee Suksomkit and Rudy Khairon both scored a goal each.
Ironically it was the Cobras who drew first blood. Goh Tat Chuan received the ball in the 3rd quarter of the field. He surprised everyone when he took a shot firing into the top left hand corner of the Jaguars' goal.
The goal woke the sleepy Jaguars. They step up their pace and Suttee Suksomkit equalise for the Jaguars in the 19th minute.
He brought the ball down the flank and with the Jurong keeper slightly out of position, curled the ball beautifully into the Jurong goal.
The cobras tried and they almost took the lead again in the 28th minutes. Velimir Crijen started the move in the middle of the field, he sent a prefect cross to Tamil Marren on the left. Tamil then crossed the ball to Marko Kraljevic in the penalty box. Marko trap the ball and lays it on to Crijen but the latter shot wide.
The Jaguars retaliated immediately after the attempt. Steven Tan crossed the ball to Suttee Suksomkit. The Thai player beat the entire Cobra defence, but was brought down by E Vadevallu outside the penalty box. Rudy Khairon stepped up to take the free kick curling it into the Cobra net to give the Jaguar a 2-1 lead at half time.
The Jaguar continued to capitalise for the weak Jurong defence. They were reward barely 3 minutes into the second half. Suttee Suksomkit turned provider for Davor to volley the ball that gave Jurong custodian no chance at all.
The Jurong defence were caught flat-footed again in the 52nd and 59th minutes. Steven Tan launched the attack this time. He crossed to Suttee Suksomkit who relays it to Davor for his second goal.
Davor's third goal came after the Jurong keeper failed to hold on to Steven Tan shot. Davor was first to the loose ball and tap it into the empty net.
Jurong had a chance to close the score in the 53 minute but Toh Choon Ming's effort beat everyone but the cross bar.
V. Sundramoothy was out injured and could only watch in despair from the bench.
After Davor's hat-trick, the match turned somewhat scrappy and a marching order were given to Djmel Achori for his second bookable offence late in the game.
