This is a
song about the things I would do to keep
her safe with me.
Photographs and picture frames the smell of perfume crowds my face,
Poetry and lotto cards the little things that leave her trace.
What are we fighting for not a moment of ours I would change,
Thought about a million times the eerie odds that went my way.
And words thought I speak sometimes frail,
Poured my soul hard words so pail.
And I would run through the stormiest whether to tear up all that's
wrong,
And I would climb the highest mountains just to be embraced in your arms.
Sorrow days when I'm with you only show because we're real,
The subtle heart that lives within you knows the true way I feel.
Fancy cars, celebrity homes, shallow dreams only luxuries,
Perfect smile, best friend, women I love necessities.
Told her I'd be around well I don't lie it's destiny,
So sit back relax it's foggy in here and all I see is you and me.
And all my pain that drives me insane,
Slowly has gone your my medicine.
And I would run into a blazing fire to carry you until safe,
And I would jump in the freezing waters just to try and take your place.
Wrap my cold arms around you and feed you all my heat,
I'd take a trip back in time just to sweep you off your feet.
