This Conference is being held in close cooperation with the Family
History Library of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints.
This is a tremendous opportunity for us to do research in the largest
genealogy facility in the world. Guided research will be available
through the help of Family History Library staff and volunteers.

Guided Research is a concept that puts you as an Italian record
researcher with the filmed records from Italy and an Italian research
expert. Ruth Merriman, a Family History Library employee, will direct
the guided research.

By registering for the 2002 POINT National Conference, you will have the
opportunity to hear a presentation on actual research of Italian
records. You may then be assigned to a small group with Italian experts
to help you with your research. You may also just research the films
with little or no help depending on your Italian Research expertise.

Guided research will be available October 9-18, during regular Library
hours. The Family History Library is open Monday 7:30am - 5:00pm and
Tuesday through Saturday 7:30am - 10:00pm. It is closed on Sunday.

Please indicate the surname of your ancestor . You will also need
to include the region, province, and city with the dates of events you
are researching. This should be done no later than May 2002. These
films will then be ready when you attend the conference in October of
2002.

Please supply as much of the following information as you can for each
person or area for which you plan to do research during the conference.

Include this information with your registration, or email it directly to
Ruth Merriman at [email protected] as soon as possible.
