Bob Bennett
United States Senate
Washington, DC 20510

Dear Bob Bennett:

I am writing this letter as a constituent increasingly alarmed about the continuing plight of the homeless, especially children and youth, not only in our back yard but also throughout our state and our country. As the Senate begins consideration of the Elementary and Secondary Education Act, this problem can be remedied quickly with local, state, and national government help. I have some ideas how we can support stronger educational rights for homeless children and youth:

Making funding level higher
Keeping the homeless children and youth in their school
Requiring the designation of a contact person for homeless children and youth in every school district
Prohibits states from segregating homeless students in separate schools

I believe that if we create more funding and stronger laws, it will help the homeless children and youth have a better future.

Sincerely,

Young H. Suh
