He died Sep 19 1848 in Allegheny Co Pa and was buried in Uniondale Cemetery, Pittsburgh, Allegheny Co., Pa. Stephen married Isabella Palmer. Isabella was born about 1809 in Pa. She died about 1879 in Allegheny Cty, PA.

Stephen and Isabella Palmer Stright had the following children: George J., Stephen R., Albert, John Henry, Mary Elizabeth, Charles Palmer and Randal Trevor. (For spouses and descendants of these children, please contact me and I would be happy to give you what information I have.) These are all documented in census records and by the sale of the family residence in Pittsburgh by Sheriff's sale dated June 2, 1897 which lists the heirs of Stephen Stright. Stephen Stright was born in 1805 which is documented by a petition presented to the November 1819 Term Court of Common Pleas in Mercer County, PA which states
that he is "above the age of fourteen" and requests to choose his guardian. This petition also gives his father's name as "Stephen Straight" who he states died intestate. His own date of death was September 19, 1848 which isdocumented by family Bible records notarized in his son John Henry Stright's Civil War pension application.
and they lived in Allegheny City, Allegheny County, PA.
Note: Note: From Stephanie: His father had apparently died sometime in 1819; at the November 1819 term of Mercer County Court, he was allowed to choose his guardian because he was "above the age of 14". His 2 brothers were younger as
their guardians were appointed by the Court. He bought property in Allegheny City, Allegheny County in 1847 from George Ledlie which became the family home at 23 Carroll Street

From Stephanie: She married an Englishman named Walter Booth and according to her divorce records, he left to go West shortly after their son was born and she didn't hear from him again until a friend of hers ran in to him in Pittsburgh several years later. He had evidently been living with another woman; she divorced him and never remarried. She and her son, Thomas Booth,
lived in the house on Carroll Street first with her mother until her death in 1879 and then with her brother Stephen Roy until his death in 1896 and she supported herself by keeping house for him. After her brother's death, the house was sold and she and her son moved into an apartment. Her son was a drummer with the Pittsburgh Symphony. They lived together until her death; she is buried in Union Dale Cemetery also. Her son never married and was buried next to her when he died in 1951.
