Jiras Jiros Jires and Grabos Maunttop

Age: It is unknown how long people of their species live, but both appear to be somewhat young.

Family: All family were presumed to be slaughtered by humans. Valgarv saved them. For a short period of time during TRY, Jiras stayed with another fox named Elena and her young son Palu. Palu referred to Jiras as "ojichan," but it would not be probable that Jiras is really the boy's uncle, as Jiras and he are different species of fox.

Reputation: Jiras is a red fox beastman, a species doomed to extinction by human hands. His missing left eye is a reminder of his past. When he was young, Jiras was bullied by those he thought were his friends. Consequently, he remains loyal to Grabos, Valgarv, and ultimately Filia, despite being betrayed in the past. Still, Jiras is a bit arrogant, sometimes referring to himself as "ore-sama." Yes, his full name IS "Jiras Jiros Jires;" a bit odd, isn't it?
Grabos is a sort of troll or goblin, and his race was also slaughtered by humans. Grabos is also missing his right eye, with a red jewel in its place. He is loyal to Valgarv, and uses Jiras as a sort of sidekick or lackey in his quest to help his savior.

Skills: Jiras was the first character to introduce guns and explosive weapons into Slayers. Before, everyone used magic, and Lina and her friends thought that Jiras' weapons were crude and even primitive when compared to their skills. Jiras is obsessed with bulding bombs, rockets, tanks, and all sorts of explosive devices that will get the job done. Usually Grabos will let Jiras do the fighting, but when he has to, his immense physical strength can prove useful.

Friends: Jiras and Grabos get along well, if getting along well means that Grabos tells Jiras what to do and Jiras complies. Both are loyal to Valgarv, and this gives them something they have in common.
Lina and her friends generally consider Jiras and Grabos a nuisance, especially Jiras, who tags along near the end. They aren't any real threat unless they have some sort of special weapon, and even then they can still be defeated. The only member of Lina's party to show genuine sympathy for these two is Filia, who was at first captured by them in a town where dragons are forbidden. Jiras took a liking to her after she saved him from his own trap, calling her "oneesan" or "sister," and in the end, Filia let him and Grabos work in her store, where, of course, Valgarv's new home would be.
