Xander Harris, the only member of the Scooby Gang to not have any real powers at all (yes, knowledge is power, and so is being an ex-demon), however, he has spent the second longest time on the front line patroling (second to Buffy) and killing Demons which makes him quite powerful...
Xander provides the witty edge on Buffy the makes it as much of a comedy as it is a success. He's the 'Comic Relief'.
So far Xander has had 2 Girlfriends, Cordelia and Anya, but he has however slept with Anya and Faith, and has had a fling with Willow. At current he is loveless because he stood Anya up at their Wedding.
Little is known about Xanders past, his parents are rarely seen and when they are, his Father is Drinking and his Mother is freting. His past couldn't be that bad mind, because Willow has been friends with him since he was a child and has always stayed Friends
