Tara, last name unknown, was introduced in Season 4, in a witch group with Willow. Once Willow left the group because of the lack of real witchcraft, Tara followed her and they became friends. It wasn't long until they started REALLY enjoying each others company. Unlike the Willow - Oz, Xander - Cordelia, and so on, the Willow - Tara relation ship is different as although we know they're going out, we never see them kiss until Season 5, although we do see them doing spells together.

Tara is a very Powerfull witch when we first see her, but as we all know Willow soon over takes her.

In Season 6 Tara and Willow break up because Tara feels that Willow is Abusing Magic and hopes this will make her her give up. It Works although no sooner are they back together than Tara gets accidentaly shot by Warren and is Killed. Although all dead Characters from Buffy come back in memories, re-animated corpses etc Tara will no-longer be a member of the Scooby gang.
