Spike was turned into a Vampire by Drusilla, after being told he didn't stand a chance with the love of his life, a noble Woman. She was recently shown in Season 6 as Hellfreck, a vengance demon who's also Anya's friend.

Spike has killed 2 Slayers in his 'Life' time, one in the Boxer Rebellion and the second in New York, whose trench coat he took and has worn ever since.

In Season 4, the Initiative captured Spike, and implanted a chip into his Brain that means he can't hurt Humans with out an intense headache stopping him. In Season 6, Spike finds out he can hurt Buffy, but no-one else. Confused he turns to "the Trio" who run tests and say nothings wrong with his chip.

In Seasons 4-5, Spike fell in love and then addmitted it to Buffy who was understandibly upset. In Season 6 Buffy is 'numb' after being pulled out of Heaven by her Friends, and turns to Spike for comfort.

Spike has also appeared in the Spin-off show Angel where he tortures Angel for information, then returns to Sunnydale.
