VALE, VALENTINE

Either David Boreanaz is a true prince who pays back his old friends no matter what, or he needs to find whoever talked him into this movie and beat them about the
head and shoulders with a table leg.

As the first reel unspooled, I thought they were trying to do a comedy, perhaps a "Scary-Movie-type" parody.

Dear God they were serious.

The talentless, clue-free drones who "produced," "wrote" and "directed" this thing seem to genuinely believe that no one else in the world ever saw a 1980's vintage
straight to video slasher flick.  EVERY cliche, shtick, hack gimmick and convention of the compost heap of ghastly knife-flicks that helped to kill the horror genre is
in this movie, presented as though it is a chilling and shocking revelation.

The direction and production values are so sloppy that when one character is killed by electrocution in the big party scene (there hadda be a big party scene) and the
mansion (there hadda be a mansion) is blacked out, THE LIGHTING DOESN'T EVEN CHANGE!

Now.  David.  No shirtlessness for you Angel fans.  In fact, if he's on camera for 20 minutes in the whole flick, I'd be amazed.  He does an honest job, with the effect,
as Sir Francis Chichester once said, of a man having the decency to drown quietly, like a gentleman.  One alarming thing, he plays an erratic drunk EXACTLY like
Angelus offering to take a chainsaw to Giles.  I don't know if this represents a distressing limit to David's range or an absolute lack of strong directorial input.

One last thing — there is ONE funny line in the movie; I'm sure it was either unintentional or an onset improv.  "He's no angel but he's not a murderer!"... justto
make sure David is the only person with a career remembered from this car-wreck.
