NB: All u Riley fans that didn’t read my warning at the beginning should know that Riley is gonna turn really evil now!!!!
Also I know that in the show Xander liked Riley but for the sake of my fic he doesn’t. I also know that Xander hated Angel but also for the sake of my fic he doesn’t like him but he doesn’t not like him either. He is very neutral to Angel and makes no cruel or sarcastic comments towards him.
Part Five
Slipping in and out of sleep Buffy woke in Angel’s loving embrace. As she gazed at her soul mate through blurry, sleep filled eyes she wondered at what point she had become this lucky. She was so happy she could burst. In the past 2 months they’d been together they had easily made up for lost time, although Xander and Anya teased them about never leaving the house or more specifically the bedroom they knew she had never been happier. Angel felt his love’s gaze on him and turned to behold her beautiful face. They stared at each other for a moment as if afraid to speak and spoil their perfect moment or as if it was a dream and they were still afraid that it would end too soon. Buffy’s hand slid to touch Angel’s face as if to reassure herself that she was awake. Angel turned his head so he was able to place a soft warm kiss on Buffy’s hand. Angel began to kiss down Buffy’s arm and then up her neck to her face. He planted a soft but passionate kiss on her partly opened lips. He began to probe them even further open with his tongue trying to gain entry to her mouth. What followed this was another frenzied love making session. Their bodies moved together in a silent rhythm as moans began to escape Buffy’s move as she reached her climax. When both were spent Angel held her in his arms until both drifted back to sleep.
Sleep no longer able to keep hold of the blonde girl she emerged the bedroom while wrapping her robe round her petite frame. She had woke to find her beloved no longer by her side. A look at the clock told her he had risen for work. Buffy made herself a quick breakfast and got ready for college, luckily her first lesson today didn’t start until late. Angel had managed to persuade her that going back was in her best interests but he had the most interesting way to persuade her. Not that she complained because she could never complain about anything Angel did. As Buffy made the drive to the campus she had time to reflect on their relationship. Buffy had always known they belonged together but had resigned herself to the fact it would never be. She’d had so many dreams about Angel becoming human and when it had finally happened she hadn’t known how to react. She had put off the reaction by letting Angel return to LA but it had been agony to know Angel was so near and yet so far before after he turned human he was even closer in fact only a couple of steps away and she had let it stay that way until the pure unbearableness of it had begun to take it’s toll. She wondered if she truly would have married Riley if Angel hadn’t turned human. But what did it matter now she was with the only man for her and her world seemed perfect. With the hellmouth gone she had few vampires and demons to deal with and so spent most nights curled up with the man of her dreams with her soul mate her true love.
“Angel? Angel? You home?” Buffy walked into the house and looked for Angel. A feeling of dread filled her when she received no answer. Her search through their home became frantic and her shouts escaladed as panic shot through her. He was always home before her, always. His job finished at 3 and so was always home by 4. It was 5:30 now and he couldn’t be found. Buffy ran to the phone as the sound of it ringing made her jump out her skin.
“Angel?”
“No Buff it’s Xander I was calling to see if you guys wanted to go out for a meal somewhere since me and Anya have some pretty good news and need a night out.”
“Xander he’s not here. Angel’s not here. He’s always here.”
“Buffy he probably just went to the store or something maybe he’s out buying you a little present. That is the sort of thing he’d do.”
“No Xander I know something is wrong. He’s gone. I have this cold feeling filling my insides and I can’t stop it, I don’t where he is. He promised he’d never leave something must have happened.”
“Buffy calm down okay. I’ll come right over ring work and see if he had to stay behind for a while. And before you say he would have called he might be waiting until he’s sure you’re home okay.”
“Okay.” Buffy hung up and phoned Angel’s work. This didn’t calm her fears but made them worse as she was told he didn’t turn up for work. Buffy stood with the dead receiver in her hand for what seemed like hours to her, hours of knowing she had lost Angel all over again. Xander knocked repeatedly on the door fearing when he got no answer of what Buffy had done in her panic. He tried the handle and found the door open. He pushed it softly and saw Buffy stood in frozen fear with the phone in her hand. He rushed to her and too the phone from her. Replacing it he then led her to the chair and sat her down.
“Buffy, Buffy what happened? Did you call his work?”
“He never went, he never went to work Xander.” As if by telling Xander she had finally admitted it to herself the tears began to pour in floods. Her sobs were loud and heart breaking. Her angel she’d lost her angel. Everything had been so perfect her life had never been better and now he was gone and with him he had taken all the light from her world and left her blind to the good she could only see darkness. Xander held his friend as she let out her feelings in waves of tears. After Buffy calmed a little Xander rang Angel investigations.
“Hello.”
“Hi Cordy?”
“Yeah.”
“It’s Xander.”
“Hey how’ everything in the not so much Sunnyhell?”
“Cordy have you heard from Angel lately?”
“He called last week about some case or other.”
“So nothing today?”
“No why?”
“He’s missing. He left this morning while Buffy was still asleep and he never went to work.”
“She okay?”
“No.” the sobs got worse and Cordelia could hear them. But if the sobs weren’t heart rendering enough the words she uttered next combined with the emotion in her voice and the tears falling so fast you could hardly see one formed before another one had taken it’s place rolling down her cheeks could break even the hardest stone heart.
“I should have told him but I didn’t I needed to make sure. 6 weeks he told me. I thought I was but went to the doctor’s today to make sure. I have his child in me and now he’s gone and I have nothing left but his seed growing inside of me.”
“Oh god.”
“Buffy. We’ll find him, he’ll come home, I promise.”
