Returning to Sunnydale
without Dawn was hard even with Spike by my side. But when I got home and was
not inside for 5 minutes there was a knock on the door. Since I couldn’t be
bothered with anyone right now I told Spike to get it and get rid of whoever it
was.
“Hi is Buffy there?”
“And you are?”
“I’m Haillie, her sister.”
Spike stood open mouthed for a second before snapping back to reality with the
ring of the phone. Buffy answered it ready to tell whoever it was that she was
fine but would rather be alone.
“Hello…what…Angel I’m sorry
I know we didn’t get along in the end but what she was doing was right she
shouldn’t have died in there.” After speaking for a few more minutes Buffy hung
up. She walked to the front door where Spike was stood talking to a girl.
“Spike that was Angel,
Faith wasn’t liked in there and some women waited for her. She was asleep and
they said it was only a game a joke, but they tried to smother her with a
pillow, she fought back. She fell from the top bunk onto the concrete floor, she
hit her head on the way down. She’s dead. Faith’s dead. She never got her
redemption.”
“Buffy this girl says she’s
your sister.”
“Sorry about the graduation
thing but had a couple things to sort out like fighting for custody of my…our
sister.”
“Buffy can we talk, please
it’s really important.” Buffy let her in and Haillie followed to the front room
where she sat. Spike sat next to Buffy and placed a reassuring hand on her
shoulder.
“A few days ago some woman
comes up to me and tells me it’s time my destiny kicked in. said that it had
been really hard to find me and that’s why training hadn’t started earlier. She
said I was a girl, a special girl. Only one girl as special as me was born in
every generation. She told me I was a Slayer. I told my dad cos I was freaked
and she kept following me telling me that I had been chosen to stop vampires.
He told me about you. I knew you existed but he told me that you would be able
to relate to me because you were one too. But I figure that’s gotta be wrong
you can’t be alive. So it’s all a big joke right to get me to come meet you.”
“No it’s not a joke. It’s
real and I did die. My friend Xander came and he did CPR and revived me. But
Kendra had been called by then.”
I’m sorry but there won’t
