Buffy Summers
Buffy was born in LA. She was the head cheerleader and the most popular girl in school. She was even dating the most popular guy who was captain of the basketball team. She was only 15 years old at this point in her life and that's when she found out she was the slayer. She hid if from her superficial friends and so they dropped her cos she was acting weird. Her boyfriend dumped her for another member of her group. But she made friends with a guy called Pike who knew who she was and decided to help her. Buffy wasn't prepared for Locos so her watcher tried to kill him for her but Locos killed him. She started to date Pike until they headed up to Las Vegas for a weekend and something happened to him and she had to hurt him. The result of this was a scar and their break up. One day at school the gym was filled with vampires so she had to burn it down. Unfortunately she couldn't tell the school why so she was expelled. Her parents' had just decided to get a divorce so she had to move to Sunnydale with her mother. While living on the Hellmouth she died at the Master's hands but her friend Xander revived her. She fell for the vampire with a soul. But because he loved her too and got one moment of happiness with her he had his soul taken away. Willow gave it back to him and Buffy and Angel tried to make their relationship work. But Angel knew it couldn't so at the end of season 3 he moved to LA. At college now Buffy shared a room with Willow and fell for a guy called Riley and he was in the business of fighting vamps and demons. But by the time she knew how she really felt for him he was gone. Buffy's mother died leaving her the mother figure for her younger sister Dawn. Her younger sister she discovered is in fact raw energy given the form of human girl. She is called The Key, and she can be used to open all the doors to the other diemnsions. Buffy died to save the world and her sister. her friends brought her back from heaven. She has had to deal with the harshness of the world after that experience, her beloved mentor Giles returning to England and being the grown-up, stable figure in Dawn's life.
Alexander Harris
Xander has lived in Sunnydale all his life but it was only when Buffy moved to town that he really paid attention to all the weird stuff that happened. But another thing happened to him when Buffy moved to town. He fell for her fast and hard. But he never got the girl, he got the praying mantis and the Inca Mummy but never the girl until Cordelia. It started out as little making out in the closet but then it became a serious relationship. It was always considered a weird relationship but no one would have ever dreamed the ending of it to have happened the way it did. Cordelia broke up with Xander after she found him kissing Willow. Anya an ex revenge demon fell for Xander and after a one date she decided that to get him out of her mind for good she needed to sleep with him. But all that led to was a very serious relationship between the two of them. Xander had survived many things in high school and decided not to go to college. He started to travel round the world but his car broke down and he returned to Sunnydale where he found his parents had moved all his stuff there and that was to be his new room. He bounced from job to job and still hasn't found one he really likes. He didn't like being a bartender after the bad beer incident so he decided to try and find a better job, which he still hasn't found. He has moved out of the basement however and now has a very nice apartment. Xander now works in construction. His planned marriage to Anya didn't occur when he called it off from fear that the future would not be kind to them. Xander saved the world when Willow was about to end it to save the all the people in the world from the grief.
Willow Rosenberg
Willow is Buffy's bookish companion. Right from when Buffy first met her Willow had a crush on Xander who was too dumb to realise it as he had a crush on Buffy. Willow finally meets a guy who worships her, Oz. But halfway through their perfect relationship she finally gets the kiss from Xander she always wanted however she never planned for Oz to see it. Willow loves the books Giles has got and started to practise doing little spells. After Jenny's death Willow found many of her pagan sites and Willow little forays into the occult has gone a little further than forays she has now become a pagan. After high school Willow goes to college with Buffy at Sunnydale. The girls share a room after a little trouble with their first roommates. Later Oz falls for another werewolf but kills her as she tries to kill Willow. Oz leaves the show leaving Willow devastated by his sudden departure. Willow feels she has too much time so she joins a group of Wiccas. She makes a close friendship with one of the other Wiccas and they realise they have fallen in love. Right near the end of season 4 Willow reveals to Buffy her secret. She is a lesbian. Our first insight to how powerful Willow has become is at the very beginning of Season 6 when she resurrects Buffy. Tara begins to worry about her and asks her to stop. She doesn't. When her use of magic puts Dawn's life in danger she finally realises Tara was right. After several months of cold turkey Tara comes back to her. After only a short while Tara is shot, Willow turns to black magic for her revenge. She becomes completely consumed with it and after sucking the good magic from Giles she can feel all the pain in the world and decides to end it. Luckily Xander gets to her in time to stop her and save the world. She breaks down from the grief and pain of losing Tara.
Rupert Giles
Giles had a difficult time with Buffy at the start but they soon formed a friendship. Giles had only been serious about one girl since he has been in the show, although when he ate some bad candy he did enjoy having sex with Joyce Summers twice on the hood of a police car. This girl was a computer teacher at Sunnydale High and she was a pagan and knew about the Slayer, she was Jenny Calendar. Unfortunately for him Jenny dies. After the high school had blown up Giles decided to take advantage of his well-earned free time. Earlier on the Watchers' Council had fired Giles since they thought the relationship between Buffy and Giles was too close. Over the years Giles had come to love Buffy like a daughter and although Buffy has never admitted it she feels the same. Giles quickly became bored with not having a job so he bought the magic shop. The Wtacher's Council wanted Buffy back she agreed as long as Giles was her watcher. They agreed. So Giles now has his wage from the Council and takings from the Magic shop. he even has enough to be able to buy a nice, new convertable. Giles realised that staying in Sunnydale was preventing his Slayer from growing up and becoming the mature, responsible adult he knew she could be, so he left for England.
Angel
Angel was born in Ireland. His name was originally Liam. He was a drunk and he wasted his life until Darla came along and fed off him and made him a vampire. Liam became Angelus because he was the vampire with the angelic face. Angelus sired many vampires and two of which have been featured in the show. William the Bloody, Spike and Drusilla. He drove her crazy before he killed and sired her. He and Daral and Spike and Drusilla travelled round Europe causing all kinds of havoc until Angelus fed on a preety young gypsy girl who was a favourite amoung her clan. Her people cursed him with a soul and then he moved to America. He lived by eating rats and living in the sewers for a hundred years. He then met a demon who showed him the Slayer and explained what his life could be. So Angelus cleaned himself up and started to visit the butchers for pig's blood. He renamed himself Angel. He bgan to help the slayer in secret. When she moved to Sunnydale he followed but he then started to make himself known to her. He never told her that he was a vampire but they fell in love and eventually she found out. He explained what had happened to her and they began a relationship. In one moment of pure happiness with her he lost his soul. He went on a killing spree and tortured her before killing Jenny Calender and eventually Willow cursing him again. They tried their relationship again but they couldn't be together and Angel realised that so after dealing with the mayor he moved to LA.
Cordelia Chase
Cordelia has never liked Xander or Willow but since all the strange supernatural attacks on her she has played a more active role in their lives and the show. Since her relationship with Xander started up she began hanging around with Xander and the gang and spending more time in the library than she ever had in her whole life. After she dumped Xander cos he cheated on her she developed a crush on the prim and proper new watcher Wesley. She finally kissed him and realised he was a girly man and there was nothing there but not before she realised she still felt something for Xander. She should have gone to the prom with him but by the time she realised how she felt he had agreed to go with Anya. After graduation she moved to LA to become an actress but she ended up meeting up with Angel and began to work for him.
Daniel Osbourne
Oz was in a couple of episodes of Buffy early season 2 but it wasn't until later in that series that his character developed and he became Willow's ever loving boyfriend. Oz played lead guitar in a band called 'Dingoes Ate My Baby' After high school he started university with Willow and Buffy but when he met another werewolf who was female things started to happen to change him. Firstly he realised an attraction to her and secondly she showed him that he wasn't just the wolf 3 times a month, he was the wolf all the time and had a face that masked it all but 3 times a month. Although he did end up killing her as she tried to kill Willow. After that he felt he had to leave. Later he came back to tell Willow that he finally had the wolf controlled and that he didn't change into the wolf. But then he smelt Willow on Tara and he changed into the wolf during the day. He realised that the only thing that changed him into the wolf was Willow and so he left again. Which worked out well cos this was just when Willow was realsing she was a lesbian.
Riley Finn
Riley is Buffy's new boyfriend. He used to be part a a large undergorund operation called the Initiative until he realised that the goal of the Initiative was not to stop demons and vampires but to use their parts to make an army of superhumans. He was named a deserter by the Initiative. But it was him, Buffy and the gang who stopped Adam and saved hundreds of lives. During a rough patch with Buffy the army asked him back. He agreed, though hoping Buffy would ask him to stay. She did try to but by the time she got there he had taken off and because of the noise the blades made he couldn't hear her shouting him and didn't look down and see her. At a point during Season 6 Riley makes an appearance, but he isn't alone. He brought along his wife, Sam.
Anya
When Anya first entered the show her name was Anyanka. She was a revenge demon for all scorned women. She had come to Sunnydale to give Cordelia revenge on Xander for being unfaithful. Ironically when Giles had smashed her power source retuning things to normal and trapping her in the body of an 18 year old she fell for Xander in a big way. She went on kind of like a weird stalker girl mission to get Xander to notice her. He finally did and they got together. When Xander left her at the alter Anya took up D'Hoffryn's offer to return to her former glory as a vengence demon.
Joyce Summers
Joyce moved to Sunnydale after her failing marriage to Hank Summers ended in divorce. She started up an art gallery which consumed so much of her time that it was over a year before she finally realised her daughter was the Chosen One and snook out every night to kill vampires and demons. Joyce was under a spell once by some candy and she had sex with Giles on the hood of a police car. Other than that and her failed marriage Joyce hasn't been seen with any men other than Ted. The evil robot guy who was designed by a dying man to bring his wife back. Joyce got a tumour and the doctors operated and removed it. It was thought she was recovering but she died.
Spike
William the Bloody got his nickname, Spike as he torutred his victims with railroad spikes. Spike was sired by Drusilla but from several references on the show, Angel was more his sire than the insane vampiress. Spike and Drusilla came to Sunnydale to find a cure for Drusilla but before they could do that they had to terminate the slayer. Like all the other vampires he didn't suceed. After finding the cure for Drusilla she left Sunnydale and Spike saying he was not the vampire she fell for and that he had gone all wimpish. Spike also left but he later returned after deciding it was all Angel's fault. He then left again determined to get her back and although it never says he did I assume that is the case as when he returned later with Harmony as his girlfriend Buffy said 'Has Dru dumped you again.' Spike was then caught by the Initiative and had a chip implanted in his head which stopped him attacking humans. He later started to help Buffy but then doubled crossed her to get the chip out of his head. But at a crucial moment helped Buffy and the others escape. Spike then realises he's in love with Buffy. After Buffy's death Spike took over her slaying duties and kept a close watch over Dawn. Since Buffy returned Spike has become a valuable friend for her since he was the one she turned to with the truth. Their relationship be came more than frienship after they literally brought the building down during sex.
Jenny Calendar
When Jenny first arrived in Sunnydale and showed her knowledge of vampires etc she explained that she was a pagan. It was only when Angel changed that she revealed she had been sent to Sunnydale to watch Angel and to make sure he still felt bad about all the things he did. She was told to do this because she was a gypsy and part of the clan that Angel took the girl from. By this time Giles and Jenny had been dating for a while and she explained that she saw no need to tell them the truth about who she was. After this Giles avoided Jenny as he was obviously hurt and angry. When Jenny was finally making progress with Giles and with the curse Angel discovered her plans to turn him back and give him his soul again and killed her.
Faith
Faith came off as a party animal but no one guessed the true extent of her wild attitude. Then she accidentally staked a human, the deputy mayor. She was about to leave Sunnydale when Buffy came along to stop her. Mr Trick attacked Buffy and Faith staked him. She later went to the mayor and took Mr Trick's place but she still hung about with Buffy and the others and then told the mayor all of their plans. They later discovered what Faith was doing. But after all she had done Faith carried on and then after she had recovered from her coma went to LA where she was hired to kill Angel but couldn't do it. With his help she got her life back and because of her guilt gave herself up to the police. Faith however wasn't at the ascension, she was in the hospital in a coma as she had injected Angel with a lethal poison and the only way to cure him was the blood of a slayer. Buffy went to Faith's and they fought until Buffy stabbed Faith and Faith went into a coma she had very little chance of recovering from. But she did and before going to LA tried to screw up Buffy's life by switching their bodies and being mean to her friends and sleeping with Riley while in Buffy's body. She is now in jail in LA.
Wesley Windham-Price
Wesley became Buffy's watcher after Giles was fired. He always wore a black suit with his hair geled back. He was a very prim and proper Englishman. He began to develop a crush on Cordelia but when they kissed it stopped as neither of them felt an attraction or a spark from the kiss.
Tara
Tara was introduced in Season 4 as a Wiccan. Her friendship with Willow progressed slowly into a loving relationship. Tara soon became a friend of the whole group, a point which was proved in Season 5 when Tara's family came to town to take her back adn none of the gang would let them. When Willow first started her downward spiral into black magic Tara left her. Later though they got back together only for Tara to be shot and killed.
Dawn Summers
Dawn Summers is Buffy's younger sister. Daawn is The Key. A ball of energy well over a thousand years old, when Glory showed up wanted The Key the monks decided to make it into a person and send the person to the Slayer. To make sure the Slayer would protect the Key with her life they implanted false memories in everyone's brain to make Dawn seem like she had always been Buffy's sister. Dawn freaked out when she found out but since Glory's demise she has become a normal teenager.
