Chapter 9: The End? Roshmayl paced back and forth in the arena that he had agreed upon. With walls covered with weapons of various sorts, he thought that his enemies would be at a serious advantage. If the removed the weapons, they would have an easy way to defeat Kgtht, his champion. He was here to stop that. Kgtht was in the antechamber behind him sleeping until his opponents got here. I Kgtht got too badly beaten in a battle against two mortals then Roshmayl would step in. Hinsor was slung at his side.
Only one thought managed to invade Roshmayls mind: The infidel approach.
Even with that one solitary negative thought, worry did not cross his face. One would have sworn he could not be the most evil person in the universe simply by looking at him. He had an incredibly handsome face, read bishounen, and long black hair. Currently he wore a suit of pure black. With all his black clothing, his albino white face seemed to shine in the dim light. Only the long wait ahead kept him from donning his armor then and there.
Starting to pace the length of the room, he continued to wait for Kai.

Kai, Gorn, Sel, and Wodra stood outside of a large, domed arena. One by one they entered through a small door set deep into the wall. After about a minute of walking through a tunnel they found themselves in a large room, large enough to house the entire Tower of the Magi. Kai assumed that this was their battleground.
The first thing she noticed were the weapons on the wall. Reaching out she grabbed a metal staff that would safely allow her to use her magicks. Gorn selected a double-edged sword about 7 feet long. His surprise on noticing that the sword weighed nearly nothing and had a 1-foot long hilt quickly changed to joy.
Sel and Wodra walked off to the edge on the arena and stated talking to Roshmayl as if they were old friends. At the same time, the door to Kgthts chamber blew open.
A seven-foot tall monstrosity sped out of the room that looked like a cross between a praying mantis and a scorpion. Gorn stumbled back and screamed. Kai raised the staff and cast a shielding spell on Gorn.
GORN! Attack him NOW!!! Kai screamed out the words then went running straight towards not Kgtht, but Roshmayl. Forcing all of her energy into the tip if her staff, she unleashed it all in one gigantic burst into Roshmayl. Laughing, he drove Hinsor though her gut, watching the black blade slide covered with blood out of her back.

Gorn didnt notice Kais charge at Roshmayl, or her death cry. All he noticed was his opponent. First, the Klucta was fast and quite intelligent. Second, Gorn was tiring out quickly. None of his blows connected, although neither did those of his opponent. Even with an incredibly long blade could Gorn hit it. He had tried every tactic he knew and got nowhere.
Kgtht on the other hand had already used up most of his energy reserves. Drawing on the last bit of strength that he had, he leapt at Gorn despite his opponents superior weapon. Kgtht never even felt the blade slide through him, he just swiped out with the last of his living will and connected, leaving a jagged gash down the side of Gorns face.
Gorn supposed that even as his opponent lay dying that the fight was far harder than it should have been. It was almost as if the sword were draining energy from him. Without pausing to catch his breath he took one look at the Kais body and Bellowed a war cry that would make even the fiercest warrior proud.
Without any second thoughts at all, he lunged at Roshmayl, who was still wearing his suit, and shoved the sword straight through his chest. He dropped his sword and picked up Hinsor. Willing the sword to gather any and all evil energy in the area, he swung the sword and buried the point in Roshmayls throat.
Sel and Wodra were not very happy. Quite the contrary, they were pissed off. One of their greatest friends had just been run through, and if she were alive she would not be for long. Finally when Sel could stand still no longer, Gorn slid Hinsor into Roshmayls throat. Sel stumbled backwards. The Flaws agent had been defeated.

Kai was sitting at a table across from a very well dressed gentle man. Noise and commotion surrounded her, and she deduced that she was in some sort of casino. The man across from her dealt out seven cards onto the green table.
Pick a card Kai. Just one card.
Kai sat blankly in the chair. the drastic change from the attack on Roshmayl to a casino was more than she could handle. Her eyes rolled back in her head and she started to fall to the ground before a familiar voice in the back of her head whispered to her.
This is the true fight Kai. Wodra and I await with Gorn here in the arena. If you win the fight with him, the universe is saved. If you lose, you will become the next Roshmayl.
Hearing Sels voice gave Kai the courage she needed to sit back up straight in the chair. Not only had he given her courage, she now also knew her opponent.
The Flaw.
Pick a card Kai, pick card. You have nothing to lose now if you pick wrong.
You LIE! I have everything to lose, the old woman told me so. Now is my destiny. I must stand strong for everyone I love. Gorn. Sel. Wodra. The Magi. All of them will lose if I pick the wrong card.
All of that does not matter. Kai found the mans sickeningly seductive voice intolerable. All you have to do is pick. Do not think that you can overpower me. That will never happen.
Kai reached out her hand towards the cards. The man smiled.

Roshmayl staggered forward feeling the hole that Hinsor had created in his throat.
Now Roshmayl, die!
Gorn swung the sword in an arc that left black light shining darkness in the wake behind it. Metal met flesh and Roshmayls head separated from his body.

Pick a card Kai.
Kai reached out a grabbed one of the cards.
