Chapter 5: The Moon Marc paced back and forth in his room, a frown easily apparent on his face, even in the dark light. 'If only they never sent that damned messenger out. Now we will be allied with the very people sent here to destroy us. Not that theres many of them since they fought us.' He turned around quickly, his light blue night robe snapping, and began to walk the other way.
'Theres got to be some way, even if it means allying myself to the Dark God himself.' He yelled out loud suddenly, I am so desperate that I would ally myself to the Dark God! Laughter bubbled out of his throat, although it did not sound like happy laughter. Rather it sounded as if he had gone crazy right there on the spot. I really would become his pawn if he decided to help me. I really am desperate.
Red swirls appeared waist high in the middle of the room and began to shape itself like a man. Dark tan skin, powerfully muscled, blue hair, and an unmistakable scar proved to be the one man Marc had most dreaded meeting, even though he had just asked to ally with him.
So, you wish to be my creature?
If you help me destroy the one known as Kai.
Kai? Oh, you mean the invader. I can rid you of her, but cannot kill her. You see, she is my creature also, whether she likes it or not.
Her! One of yours! Ridiculous!
She does not accept it. But you just want her out of your way do you not?
If that is the best you can do then yes, i would like that.
Sel tsked. Do you know what being my creature entails?
Yes, Marc added a hesitant, My lord.
Very well. Sel gestured and swirls of black flowed around his hand, shaping itself to become an opaque dagger. He took Marc by the hand and laid the blade of the dagger in it. The sharp blade left a deep red line in Marcs hand, which shone brightly black. His flesh welded back together almost instantly, flesh reconnecting and splitting apart very quickly, a scar quickly appearing. Black lines spread outward from the wound, and Marc screamed loudly.
So you are now my creature. I hope you enjoy your new life. Sel popped out of existence leaving no trace of his ever having been there with the exception of a line down the center of Marcs hand.
Marc smiled walked over to his cabinet and pulled out a pair of gloves. He thought about introducing technology to Flingeis. He just had to get something destructive first. Maybe a Galaxial Class cannon would suit his purposes, but first he needed that bitch of his planet, preferably before the messengers his ex-friends had sent out reached her.
I will dispatch my own message to the Magi in that infernal tower that popped up in the Neverlost Forest. If I had that army at my side I could rule over everything. If they accept.
_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_
The thin line of the scar on Kais hand hurt terribly. She jolted out of her sleep for the fourth or fifth time that night. Sleep did not seem to want to come to her. She saw the scar on her hand glow red and the dream she had came back to her.
Sel. That was his name. Sel. I wonder if we have any records of him back at HQ. It doesnt really matter.
Three knocks came quickly on her door, and with a wave of dizziness, she remembered her last dream. Sel had told her this would happen. She stumbled to the door and opened it, squinting when the bright light hit her eyes. Through the light she could just make out the outline of Gorn.
Wake up Kai, I have wonderful news!
Lemme guess, the engines are back online.
Gorns face sagged visibly and he started to say something before Kai started muttering under her breath. Kai? How exactly did you find out about it?
Sel told me he would do it.
Who is Sel?
The Da- Never mind. Any other news?
Actually, yes. There is a tower somewhere nearby that seems to have appeared out of nowhere. Flingeien legend says that it was here twice before, and each time the beings inside have seemed to end all fighting. Only they do it by a show of force, making the Flingeiens believe that they would destroy the planet if the bickering didnt stop. Supposedly the people inside are called Magi. I-
What does this have to do with us? Kai looked as if she were suddenly in a hurry to be off.
Nothing, right now. But if we ally with the Magi, then we could still win this war.
Why ally with them when I am far stronger than all of them.
Gorn frowned. How do you know how strong the Magi are if they just now appeared?
I am the most powerful mage from my planet. Unless my brother is with them, I am stronger than all of them combined. But I doubt he would have left to reestablish the tower.
Wait just a sec. You said your brother. That means that you must be a Magi.
What I am does not matter. Her voice turned deadly serious. "They are not going to take me back until I am ready. We leave now. This occurrence has nothing to do with us, so we will just ignore it. Her eyes flashed suddenly and then went back to the normal grey they usually were.
As Gorn left, he swore that Kai was different somehow, in some way darker, more evil almost. The last thought to go through his head before he fell unconscious to the floor was, I wonder where she got that scar.
