The Itinerant Band ~ Albums

Album cover Jefferson and Liberty is a collection of 18th century tunes and songs that we chose as representative of those played and sung by working class musicians in the North American colonies (of course, we also chose them because we enjoy playing them so much). Featuring tunes and songs from the English, Irish, Scottish and French traditions of colonial America, the collection includes what we believe is the first recording of Oh Say Bonnie Lass , one of the songs found in the recently discovered musical notebooks of Capt. Bush of the Continential Army. Also included in the first recording on an original air, Glen Affric, written by our own Paul Brockman.

Though Jefferson and Liberty is the only album we have (thus far) recorded as a group, members of the Itinerant Band have previously recorded several albums under various other guises.
~ Bob Clark, along with Bev Yeskolski (another talented hammered dulcimer player) has two albums of mostly instrumental Christmas music, Midwinter and Some Children See Him
~ Marsha Wallace, with her women's trio Tangent, issued Untaming the Shrew in 1998. This is a collection of traditional and original songs with great vocal harmonies.
~ Paul Brockman, Susan Lawlor, and Dave McNew were all previously members of the Scottish/Irish band Thistle & Roses. They have two albums available, Life's Minor Pleasures and Wind on the Moor.

~ All of these recordings may be ordered from Southern Branch Music, or from ourselves (order form)
