| Yes! You did it! The turnip was actually the first jack-o-lantern. It was a vegetable easy to grow and easy to have in abundance. Pumpkins did not become easily available until much later. But they make easy to carve and easy to store containers to hold our Autumn and Halloween art work and became popular very quickly. |
