In the early 1990's the Psychology Department at the University of Kentucky conducted a survey of over 1,000 women who were NOT professional dominatrixes but practiced sadism in their sexual relationships. The results of that survey showed that 87% of these women felt that the thrill and excitement of SM came from feelings of supreme desirability rather then from exercising power over a man. These women said it aroused them tremendously to watch a man suffer pain and torture to earn the priviledge of making love to them. They claimed it made them feel intensely feminine, tremendously desirable, and as though they were not giving themselves away cheaply when a man suffered for the honor of being allowed to intimately experience their bodies. |
