Sigma Lambda Alpha Sorority Inc. Zeta chapter
We are the ladies of Sigma Lambda Alpha Sorority, Inc. University of Texas at Dallas, Zeta Chapter! We became the first Latina Sorority on campus on April 1st, 2005 Six founding mothers got together to achieve a goal that no one had accomplished yet, at this university. Our Alpha class: Crystal Chavez, Marisela Escamilla, Mayra Fuentes, Adrienne Garcia,Veronica Moreno, and Raquel Rauda became the first ladies to stablish the UTD colony of Sigma Lambda Alpha Sorority, Inc. As of April 8th, 2006 the ladies of Sigma Lambda Alpha UTD colony became the latest chapter addition into the sisterhood of Sigma Lambda Alpha Sorority, Inc. Since then we have had our crossed many classes of potential new members into sisterhood. Beta class established: Christina Chavez, Erica Chavez, Carla Dominguez, Edith Diaz, Leanne Hernandez, Mari Macias & Laura Valdez into sisterhood Gamma Class established: Janie Reyes, Maria Reveles, Danielle Rodriguez, and April Gross into sisterhood. Delta Class established: Tiffany Ornelas into sisterhood. Zeta Class established Yesenia Tobar, Gillian Papanek, Marilu Tejeda and Lingyan Yu into sisterhood.

Our Mission The mission of Sigma Lambda Alpha Sorority, Inc. is to promote the importance of community service involvement and academic achievement as well as to educate and excel the stance of Latino cultures in this diversely enriched society. Sigma Lambda Alpha Sorority, Inc. is committed to uniting women through community service involvement and academic achievement. We come together as sisters and develop strong women who will become leaders in the local as well as the national community. Since 1992 sisters in Sigma Lambda Alpha Sorority, Inc. have been agents of change in their respective fields of study and at their respective universities. The undergraduate and graduate chapters of our sisterhood help the community they are a part of through various arenas. The outstanding women who form our sisterhood are true examples of what a Se�orita is. Community Service The ladies of Sigma Lambda Alpha Sorority, Inc. ensure the quality of life in their areas is improved through the many different community service projects they host and participate in throughout the year. Cultural Awareness Our foundation being a cultural group, the undergraduate chapters and our members provide several different opportunities for their respective campuses to enjoy and learn from. Academic Achievement The ladies of Sigma Lambda Alpha Sorority, Inc. above all else are at their undergraduate institutions to further their education. There is a minimum GPA required to join and continue to be an active member of Sigma Lambda Alpha Sorority, Inc. Each member keeps a log of study hours and individual chapters form study groups in order to ensure academic success
