This is totally different from the two older albums. Well, not completely different... there just are some things they have skipped (hardcore sound) and some things they have made a little more of. However, if I didn't know any better I could easily guess that this was an album of another band. Band evolution has occured, and lots of it. This album sure gets the highest rates on the Slow, Deep and Hard sound ideal table. Because that's what it is - slow, deep and hard. Anxiety shows a lot more than anger here, and on the whole this album has a lot more atmosphere. This is nothing but musical art.

Christian Woman : I would like to say that Type O Negative here are at their very best. The song is divided in three parts, as quite common with Type O Negative. Each part has it's own meaning and sound, yet they work very well together. Heavy guitar and dark singing. The concept is the forbidden sexuality of the little christian girl - a serious meaning in many aspects, but Type O Negative has mixed it with a good sense of humour and leaves something for everybody to enjoy. This will surely be a classic.

Black No.1: Black No.1 is the song that has come to "represent" Type O Negative in many ways, which is pretty fair. This is usally the closing song at concerts. The band often uses this track as ending song on concerts, and it spreads an undescribable atmosphere in the audience. I this song Peter gets some trouble with his girlfriend vampire. (What did he expect?) Raw, hard, beautiful, humourous - Type O Negative kicks some major ass with this one.

Kill All the White People: A track slightly different from other tracks on this album. The hardcore sounds come around again, but in a somewhat more modern way. The lyrics are short and clear; but could be given a lot of thought.

Summer Breeze: This is many peoples Type O Favourite (but not mine). It is more of a musical summer poem than a heavy-oh-anguish-and-pain Type O Song. It is a cover, and it used to be called "Summer Girl", with slightly different lyrics. That version was not liked by the writer of the song, though, and was banned.

Bloody Kisses: This is a sad but beautiful story about true love leading to double suicide... Listening to this song is like watching a really touching movie. I have no idea how they accomplish these things, but to Peter n the boyz I have only one thing to say about this: Keep up the good work!! Furthermore this is the song that gave name to the album. But I guess most people have figured that our already. The subtitle ("A Death in the Family") is a tribute to one of Peter's deceased cats.

Can't Lose You: Peter is a friend of animals, and also very fond of his pets. When one of his cats died, he immediately wrote this song in its honour. That was the same incident causing the subtitle for "Bloody Kisses".
