Silently he watched his brother, his twin in fact, standing at the cliff, staring at the waterfalls of Imladris. He knew, of course, that Elrohir was aware of his presence, having long since felt him due to the strong bond they shared.

"I have always loved the waterfalls." The younger twin suddenly said. Elladan took some steps towards his brother and rested his hands on the tense shoulders.

"I know." He whispered. "You are tense." He then remarked. Elrohir leant back against his chest and rested his head on his shoulder, turning his head ever so slightly to let his cheek rest against his brothers.

"I am afraid, Elladan..." Elrohir's voice was barely more than a whisper against his earlobe, the soft lips lightly touching it as he spoke. "What if they find out? What if..." He trailed off.

"Shh... do not say that, meleth-nin." Elladan whispered and pressed a soft kiss to the corner of Elrohir's lips. "Do not even think about that."

They had just reached their majority 2 years ago, but many of the elves in Imladris still thought of them as elflings. Most of all their former teachers Erestor and Glorfindel. Elladan wondered when they would finally accept that the little whirlwinds they once had been had grown up? That they were adults now, with more problems and worries than most elves in Imladris?

Worries were eating at them, making every waking hour a living hell. They had to pretend every second they spent around other elves in fear of being found out.

"How can I not think about it, meleth? It occupies my mind all the time..." Elrohir spoke softly and Elladan wrapped his arms tightly around the younger twins chest.

"I know, Elrohir. Maybe... maybe we should talk about it again." He suggested, gently kissing his twin's cheek again. He felt the younger one shudder in his arms at the thought.

"I do not want to talk about it. I would rather just forget about all of it." He sighed softly. "We have made our choice, have we not? We have to leave Imladris and become mankind in order to be together."

"What if we stay here and chose to belong to the firstborn?" Elladan asked.

"Oh Elladan, we talked about that already. We cannot! If anybody found it, we would be banished from the realm." His brother said in distress.

"How do you know? Ada also had a twin. What if he understands?" Elladan argued.

"What if he doesn't? Do you want to risk that?" A soft, warm hand had found its way to Elladans hands on his brother's chest and caressed them gently.

"Yes, I do. I would much rather risk that and have the chance of being with you, here, for an eternity, than just give up and leave without even trying." Elladan said heatedly and pushed the hands away, taking some steps backwards.

"So we will leave Imladris after we told them. Does it make a difference, Elrohir?" He asked, staring at his mirror image.

"Yes Elladan. It makes all the difference. If we leave just like that, Adar won't hate us or be disgusted with us. If we tell him and he banishes us from his realm... I could not take it!" Elrohir said, his voice thick with unshed tears.

Something inside Elladan snapped, then, at the sight of Elrohirs eyes, full of unshed tears. He hugged his brother tightly and kissed him.

"Shh... please, do not cry... we just have to risk it. I could not take it, knowing the could have a chance of being happy, living in Imladris, together..." He trailed off.

Elrohir hid his face in Elladan's robes and sniffled softly. "But how do you want to do it? You cannnot just walk into Adar's study and tell him that we are... and that we want to belong to the firstborn!"

"Do we have another choice?"

"We could talk to Erestor first. He is chief advisor for a reason, Elladan. I am sure he wouldn't hate us for our love. Maybe he can help us." Elrohir raised a tearstained face to look into his brothers warm, brown eyes.

"Alright. We will do that." Elladan replied and used his thumb to brush away a single tear on his brother's smooth cheek.

"Can we do it this evening? I cannot wait any longer, this fear is..." Elrohir trailed off. Seeing his brother nod, he smiled and pecked his cheek. "Thank you. I know this is not easy for you."

"Nay, it is not. But for you, I would do anything, and you know that." The older twin said softly. "Let us return to the house, it will be dinnertime soon."

They walked back to the Last Homely House then and arrived on time for dinner. Sitting next to their father, they avoided the Elf-Lords gaze and ate with little appetite.

After dinner, they asked Erestor to talk to them in his office.

"What is it, you look troubled." The advisor asked worriedly. He pushed a strand of the famous, blue-black hair behind his ear and gave them an intense look.

"We... we need your help, Erestor." Elrohir said and answered the intense gaze with a pleading, puppy-eyed look of his own. Erestor smiled.

"You do know that you do not need to give me that look, pen-neth, right?" He asked and smiled fondly at the young elf in front of him. He had helped raise the twins (and Arwen) and loved them like they were his own sons.

"Aye, I know..." Elrohir sighed. "But this is very serious, Erestor... we have a life altering decision to make."

"Oh but I know, Elrohir. Have you made your choice yet?" Erestor asked.

"I did not mean that, but aye, that choice we've made. I was talking about another choice we have to make." The younger twin replied.

Erestor frowned, he did not know what Elrohir was talking about. He nodded for him to go on.

"We want to belong to the firstborn, Erestor." He said simply. Erestor's face lit up.

"That is wonderful, pen-neth!" The usually reserved advisor exclaimed and hugged the smaller elf tightly. He frowned as he felt his former student hug him back thightly and start to sob softly.

"But... Elrohir, what's wrong? You're scaring me..." he said as he held the younger twin an arm length away from him to look into the teary eyes.

"Oh Erestor. I don't know what to do!" Elrohir said and angrily wiped away a tear that had escaped his eye.

"We have to tell you something, and... you have to promise us not to tell anyone!" Elladan said then. Erestor nodded.

"Let us move this to my private rooms, please." He said, gave the twins another worried glance and lead them through a door in the back of his office to his rooms, asking them to sit on the comfortable black sofa. He nodded to show them he was ready to hear what they had to tell him.

"You know that we have always been very close, as babies we would start to cry if we had to be in separate cots, later we would share a room." Elladan started, smiling sadly at the memories.

"But the closer we came to reaching our majority... the stronger was the desire to be together. We... one evening we were lying in bed, looking into each other eyes... and we both knew, we... we love each other. More than... more than brothers, even twins, should. We kissed for the first time that night. We touched each other for the very first time, too." Elrohir finished.

Erestor stared at them for a moment, then a small smile tugged at the corner of his ruby lips.

"And I already thought it was a problem we couldn't solve." He said. At the twins confused looks, he got up and sat between them on the sofa, taking one hand from each young elf.

"Your father had a twin too, as you know." He started to explain. "Elrond and Elros... they were different from you. They were the total opposite of each other. Elrond was always quiet and reserved, and Elros was a little whirlwind. But you have one thing in common. Your father and his twin, they shared the same love as you two do now."

"But... but why did Elros chose to be mortal, then?" Elrohir asked anxiously.

"Nobody would have accepted their love back then. They would have been banished. That is what you fear, too, isn't it?" The black-haired elf asked.

"Yes... of course it is! Isn't that what will happen, Erestor?" Elladan squeezed the advisor's hand gently.

"You know your father. He loves you, you are everything he has, now that Arwen decided to marry Estel. He would never banish you from his realm, no matter what you do. He will understand what you feel. And he would not want his sons to suffer the same fate he and his twin did."

Two pairs of big, brown doe-like eyes blinked at him curiously and Erestor felt reminded of the little elflings he had once read exiting stories to.

"Do not fear. Go to him, tell him." He said and smiled at them.

"So you do not judge us? You don't think we're disgusting?" Elrohir whispered.

"How can you say that? Do you think so lowly of me, pen-net? How could I judge you for your love? That's what it is, isn't it? It's love, that's all. It's a good thing. I couldn't never judge you for that." Erestor answered and pulled the younger twin into a tight, warm hug.

"Thank you, Erestor." The other twin said and hugged him, too. "We will... talk to him tomorrow, we need to think about it tonight."

"Don't worry too much. Your father will understand. I am sure." Erestor said as he followed the twins to the door to his office. "See you tomorrow at breakfast."

"Thank you, Erestor." The twins said and hugged him again before disappearing to their room.

Elrohir locked the door to their room and turned to his brother. Elladan's hair was a little messy, as usual, and Elrohir loved it. He also loved the way his twin's tunic was slightly crinkled.

His own hair was always braided back from his face perfectly and his tunic was smooth and even. He smiled as Elladan took off his tunic and carelessly tossed it into a corner of their room. He took off his own and folded it neatly before putting it away.

Elrohir felt his brother's arms around his waist and warm lips against his neck, kissing him slowly. The warm hands on his belly slowly stroked up and down, until one found a nipple to caress and the other slipped beneath the waistband of his leggings. He gasped and moaned as Elladan suckled the sensitive tip of his ear into his mouth, tweaked his nipple and took his elfhood in his hand.

"I want you so much, Elrohir..." the older twin whispered into his brother's ear, his voice husky.

"I... I want you too..." The younger twin replied and arched his back. "Please..."

"Let's move this to the bed..." Elladan said and pulled his brother into the large, soft bed.

Settling on top of his twin, Elladan carefully rested his weight on Elrohir, feeling the younger twin's elfhood harden against his thigh. He smiled lovingly and Elrohir felt the millions of tiny butterflies in his belly start to flap their wings excitedly.

He let his hands caress Elladans back and pull him closer, kissing him deeply. They ground their hips together and moaned into each others mouths, full of need.

"I want you inside me, Elladan, please..." Elrohir whispered and kissed his brother again. The older twin reached for the vial of oil they kept in their nightstand and opened it, nearly spilling its contents in his hurry. Elrohir smiled.

"Easy, meleth, I am not going anywhere..." he said softly and caressed his brother's chest while the other tipped the vial and poured some oil on his fingers. He reached beneath Elrohir and slowly eased one finger into the tight passage. After a while he added a second finger, starting to scissor them slightly to stretch and prepare his beloved.

He watched his brother gasping and moaning before he positioned himself and eased his way into Elrohir. He tried to go slow, not wanting to hurt the younger twin and gave him time to adjust.

"Ok?" He asked and Elrohir nodded, pulling him closer again.

"Please, move!" The younger one urged him on and circled his hips impatiently. Elladan watched as Elrohir closed his eyes in bliss as he hit a certain spot inside his brother, and leaned down to kiss him once more.

Starting to thrust into the other elf, Elladan tried to hold back, but soon he lost all his control and started to go faster and harder with each thrust. He felt Elrohir's fingernails digging into his back and bit the creamy white skin of his brother's shoulder as they both came.

Panting, he rolled off of Elrohir and pulled him close, kissing his forehead gently.

"I love you... you have no idea how much." He murmured.

"I know... I love you just as much." The younger one replied as he snuggled closer. Elladan grinned as Elrohir yawned, rubbed his cheek against his chest, and slept away.

"Good night, meleth." He whispered and settled for sleep, too.

The next morning, both of them woke early. They knew they had to talk to their father today and were nervous. After washing up and dressing, they went straight to their fathers study, wanting to get over with it as quickly as possible.

They knocked on Elrond's door and went in as the Elf-Lord called for them to enter.

"Ah, Elladan, Elrohir." Elrond gave his sons a smile and gestured for them to take a seat. He frowned at them. "You look nervous, what's wrong?" He asked.

"We have to tell you something, Ada." Elladan said stiffly and glanced at his brother.

"Well, what is it? You are scaring me, ion-nin." Elrond said worriedly and studied his sons.

"You know how close we are. You've had a twin yourself. You..." Elrohir trailed off and lowered his gaze. "We want to be elves, Ada. We made our choice. But there is one thing..."

"Elrohir. Stop this, and tell me!" Elrond was getting nervous.

"We love each other, Ada..." Elladan whispered and took his twins hand, squeezing it reassuringly.

"Oh Elladan... Elrohir..." Elrond got up from his chair and went to hug both of his sons. "You have no idea how well I understand you."

"What do you mean?" Elladan frowned. Elrond smiled softly.

"As you already mentioned, I also had a twin. I also... loved... my twin. More than a brother should. Elros also loved me. But we couldn't... we weren't meant to be together. No one would have accepted that back then. This is the reason for Elros' choice to be a mortal." Elrond finished with a sad, hurt look in his eyes.

The twins gently hugged their father and tried to comfort him, knowing nothing could ever comfort Elrond. They knew what it would feel like to lose each other.

"So you... you're not angry?" Elrohir whispered anxiously. Elrond smiled sadly.

"How could I judge you for feeling the same way about each other that Elros and me did? If you love each other, that's the way it is and everybody has to accept that." Elrond said and caressed his son's cheek.

"Oh Ada! And we feared you'd banish us!" Elrohir said and hugged Elrond stormily, pushing him to the floor by mistake. He giggled and blushed. "Sorry."

Elrond laughed and held the younger twin close.

"Fear not. I never would. You mean the world to me, my sons. You are my everything. And I do not want you to make the same mistake Elros and I did. And honestly, I don't think anyone here in Imladris, or Lothlorien for that matter, would object, or judge you for your love."

"Thank you Ada..." The twins said in unison. Elrond and Elrohir got up from the floor, the younger twin blushing because of his clumsiness and brushing at his robes absentmindedly.

"So, we do not have to hide anymore... and fear being discovered." Elladan said and pulled the younger twin close, kissing him hungrily.

"Ai, not in my study!" Elrond laughed. "Out!" He said, still laughing, ushering the twins out of the room, shaking his head with a big grin.
