Mel walked away from the Hall of Fire. Sadly, with a wistful look, he hung his head, the tears silently threatening to finally fall. The music of the winter's eve feast was usually joyful to all elves, but this night held a bittersweet hope for two lonely hearts. That they would, or when they would reach solace from one another was any ones guess.

Glorfindel had pined for the young adviser for sometime, and he had planned to invite the young male, who was also a beautifully voiced minstrel, to his room for a quiet private conversation, as he did not want to be alone this night. Erestor shook his head, in pity, at the sight of his two best friends in such pain. Glorfindel sat alone by one of the many fireplaces that brought warmth to The Last Homely House. Erestor bid his goodnight to Legolas, one of the few visiting Mirkwood elves, and silently sat beside his friend.

"Glorfindel, oh my friend, I worry for you so. Mel has left in such sadness, and here you are alone. I do not like to see my friends this way." Erestor stated quietly.

"Do not worry for me, meldir nin (my friend), are you not in such a similar situation yourself? Afraid to reveal your true feelings to the one you long to have." Glorfindel muttered frustrated.

"I am in a similar situation, but it is easy for all who see how Mel looks at you so hoping, and trusting. Can you not truly see he has given you his heart? The one I long for does not see me this way. He sees me only as friend who he can openly lean on for advice. You, my friend, have a chance at having true love; you just need to grasp it." Erestor sighed, willing his own tears away.

"You are protective and loyal to Mel, is that not what he has said he wants in a male lover, someone to care for him enough that they'd do anything to keep him?" Erestor questioned him quietly.

"I would risk a second life to have him in my arms if just for a night, my friend." Glorfindel agreed, taking a large drink of his wine and placing the empty bottle on a small table nearby.

"Then go to him, friend. Let him find the peace in his heart he so deserves. Take care of him, for he is like a son to me."

"Yes, I will go." Glorfindel whispered quietly, leaving Erestor alone in the spot where he once was.

"You care deeply for them both do you not, old friend." Elrond smiled, sitting beside Erestor.

Erestor startled, by not having heard him, nodded. "Who is it that holds your heart, my friend? I would only wish it were I, so that I would not see you so broken. "Elrond admitted, holding Erestor's hand in his.

"But the Lady would not want . . ." Erestor started, but was cut off by Elrond's hungry lips against his own.

"Lady Celebrian and I have parted ways, and were never truly bonded. You know this, my love. Why not accept our love as it is? "Elrond questioned.

"Yes, you love me truly?"." Erestor sighed, now crying.

Elrond smiled and wiped away a few of the tears that had fallen. "Yes, my love, I love you." Elrond stated, cupping Erestor's face with his hands and kissing him passionately. Their tongues danced with one another until Elrond pulled Erestor to his feet.

"Let us retire for this eve, my friend. Come, I wish to make love to you in my chambers."

Erestor blushed and walked quietly with Elrond out of the great hall.

Mel let his tears flow free once he reached his chambers. "Oh, I do not know how much more my heart will take. Glorfindel, my heart, would not even look at me this eve. "Mel had cried silently in his bed for an hour or so, until a knock had come to his door. Quietly, he cleaned his face, and bid the visitor entry.

"Glorfindel!" Mel exclaimed. Glorfindel was the last person he'd expected to visit his chambers this eve.

"Gods, my sweet, I'm so sorry. I have known for a while how you so deeply cared for me, but have never had the courage to welcome your love. Please forgive me for not welcoming it sooner, as I love you as well, sweet one." Glorfindel whispered, gathering the young elf to him, placing his lips to Mel's'.

"Oh Glorfindel, I love you so, please do not ever leave me. Love me, Glorfindel." Mel cried happily.

"Yes, my beautiful lover. Let me make love to you, my treasure. Oh, come share this bed, lover, for thee I give my heart this night." Glorfindel whispered, taking Mel into his arms, and placing him on his large bed. "Let me ravish you, love. You are so eager for my touch, beautiful one." Glorfindel smiled.

"Only your touch, my golden warrior." Mel purred lightly. Almost aggressively their lovemaking came, both so wanton for this bonding ritual. Their cries, so sweet, were heard echoing just lightly outside the chamber door.

"Ai, my sweet, make love to me tonight. You make me so warm, I burn for you, mellonen." Glorfindel growled.

"Please, yes. Ai, my love, more . . . please." Mel cried, like sweet music to Glorfindel's ears.

"I love you, Mel." Glorfindel whispered quietly, sometime later that night.

"Ai, Glorfindel, I will always love you." Mel cried happily.

"Bond with me love?" Glorfindel questioned.

"Yes! Oh, Glorfindel do you truly mean it?" Mel wept, holding Glorfindel tightly to his chest.

"Ai my love, bond with me tomorrow, Christmas." Glorfindel whispered.

"Yes, I will! You've made me so happy, Glorfindel. I love you." Mel kissed Glorfindel passionately.

Meanwhile...

"Quiet Las, let us hear what adar is doing! Oh, I hoped he took our advice and bedded his advisor. Erestor has loved him so long." Elrohir whispered quietly to his brothers and Legolas.

The three elves were pressed up against the door to their father's bedchambers. "Ai, I hope so too, he's a bit stiff when he's not around father. Perhaps, this will loosen him up shall we say. Any bets, as to who will scream the loudest tonight." Elladan smirked at his twins glowing eyes.

"Ai, I bet Las will scream the loudest tonight once he realizes what we're really up to little brother." Elladan laughed quietly.

"Realizes what?" Legolas questioned. The twins grinned wickedly, making Legolas jump back.

"Oh no, not that again. I'm not spending the night with you this time, no. It was too much, as I still hurt from the last time." Legolas grimaced in pain at the thought of being with them again.

"Ai Legolas, we want to be with you so, you desire us, yes? So, why not, love? Make our Christmas a little merrier?" Elrohir whispered seductively.

"Yes, Legolas, we so treasure you. Please join us this evening." Elladan nipped lightly at Legolas' ear making him blush.

.

"Please El, don't make me do so . . . you two love to make entirely too much noise." Legolas protested...

"Too much noise, us, no never. Twas not us who were heard by the other elves, mellonen." Ro whispered.

"I cannot help it! You two drive me crazy!" Legolas purred as Elladan continued nipping at his neck.

"But you are oh so tasty, my love. You wouldn't keep us from our hearts desire now would you?" Elladan snickered.

"Ai, what is the meaning of this? Shouldn't you two be at the feast and not spying on your adar?" Elrond yelled, startling them.

"If you wish to spy, go spy on Glorfindel it would be much easier." Elrond grinned.

"Ai, that it would. We could hear Mel and he from our chambers, surely it has not caught your interest as well." Erestor agreed, eyeing the twins cautiously.

"But we were just trying to coax Legolas here into our bed adar, tis all. He just wouldn't consent to us being his entertainment for the night." the twins replied.

"Shame on you, Legolas, not allowing them to have their way with you." Elrond snickered.

"Hey, not fair. I didn't say I wouldn't, I just think they make entirely too much noise." Legolas cried.

"Too much noise? My sons, never. I do believe last time it was you making all the noise, Legolas." Elrond laughed whole-heartedly. Legolas glared at Elrond.

Later that morning. . .

Glorfindel walked silently to Lord Elrond's chambers, and knocked lightly on the door when he arrived. Elrond opened the door, muffling a yawn and smiled at Glorfindel.

"Glorfindel, my friend, why have you come seeking me so early today? Did I not give you this time off, mellonen? You should be enjoying yourself." Elrond shook his head.

"Elrond, my friend, would you do me a favor and ask the jewelry maker to make two wedding bands for me please? They are for Mel and me. I would like us to be bonded sometime this eve." Glorfindel smiled at his friends shocked expression.

"Truly, you and Mel are to be bonded, mellon? I would gladly order them from the jeweler myself, as my gift for you." Elrond smiled.

"Erestor, you must make arrangements and invitations. Mel and Glorfindel are to be married." Elrond whispered, happily to his love.

"Ai, I will get on them right away, mellonen, I'm so pleased Glorfindel. You've made Mel so happy. Oh, what a sweet Christmas day this will be." Erestor sighed.

"Ai, Merry Christmas, my friends." Glorfindel smiled, and left to be with his love.
