‘It is freezing’ that was the thought running through his mind as he stumbled through the snow, his arm up protecting his eyes as he tried in vain to see where he was going through the blinding snowfall. He had lost his escort the day before and had been wandering around lost ever since. He prayed to the Valar that they had made it to Imladris. He, he feared would not. He, Prince of Mirkwood, heir to the throne, one of the greatest archers in all of Arda would be done in by a blizzard of all things. Suddenly he found himself falling. As he put his arms out to break his fall he heard the sickly sound of the breaking of a bone as he came in contact with the ground. He lay there clutching his arm to himself as the will to go on left him. Slowly he closed his eyes as he fell into a calming, eternal sleep. His last thoughts were of his Ada and the grief he would suffer at the news of his death.

“I can not see shit in this snow!” Elrohir exclaimed as he and his brother searched desperately for the lost prince.

Elladan shaking his head as he yelled over the noise of the blizzard, “What language you have picked up from the Edain. I would not let Ada hear you talking like that.”

Elrohir snorted as he continued looking. He yelled as he pointed to what looked like a green blanket sticking out of the snow, “Elladan!” Elladan ran over to the spot to investigate, as he started to dig in the snow he discover the body of Legolas.

“Is it him?” Elrohir asked coming up beside of his twin.

“Yes, but I do not think he is long for this world if we do not warm him up quickly. See if you can start a fire.” Elladan said to his brother.

“I spotted a cave not far back. We should take him there out of all this weather.” Elrohir replied back.

Nodding his head in agreement Elladan picked up the wayward frozen elf and carried him to the cave. As he entered, he heard Elrohir say, “We are in luck. It looks like someone had used this cave recently and left a good supply of wood behind.”

Soon Elrohir had a fire going and had put some water in a kettle he had brought along. Going over to this twin, he bent down and asked, “Will he make it?”

“I think so, but we need to get him to Ada soon. It looks as if he broke his arm, and he is running a fever,” he replied back.

“We should get him out of these wet clothes so they can dry. Here, take this blanket,” Elrohir said, as he handed the blanket to his brother, thankful he had thought to grab a few things before they headed out in search of Legolas after his escort showed up without him. Elladan took the blanket and slowly started to undress Legolas minding his arm as to not hurt the elf any more then was necessary. Wrapping him up in the warm blanket, he handed the wet clothes to his twin to lay out.

As soon as Elrohir had Legolas’ clothes laid out to dry, Elrohir started making a healing tea to warm the elf up from the inside.

Over the next several hours the twins watched Legolas hoping that he would get better. Seeing that his fever was intensifying at an alarming rate, they headed out as soon as his clothes were dry enough to keep him warm.

He was warm and in pain, this much he knew, but he could not open his eyes. He could hear voices around him talking, but he could not make out the words. Slowly he fell back in to darkness.

Elrond bent down as he noticed the young elf starting to moan in pain. Turning, he poured some of the sleeping draught into a cup, pulling Legolas up just enough as to pour a small amount of the liquid into the feverish elf’s mouth before laying him back down; tucking the blanket back around the young one, he turned his attention back to the healers in the room. “We need to keep him asleep for the time being, and under the covers. Someone needs to be in this room at all times to insure that he does not kick the covers off. Try as much as possible to move his arm as little as you can,” Elrond told them. “This one holds the future of our world in his hands.” Elrond whispered more to himself than to the others as he reached to push a loose strand of hair behind the sick elf’s ear, ‘and a part of my heart, too,’ he thought to himself. Elrond had felt a special connection to the beautiful wood elf the first time the twins had brought him home, some three centuries ago. He vowed to himself to see this one healed at all cost.

{He was running through the forest, lost, scared, and worried. Where could his Adar be? “ADA!” He yelled, but received no response. “ADA!” He screamed louder. The thick mist was keeping him from finding his Ada. He sat down under a small tree with his legs tucked under his chin, crying. He did not understand why he was out alone at night. He was too little to be left alone. Upon hearing a twig break he sucked in his breath, “Ada?” He asked quietly. Upon hearing no response, he started crying harder. “Little elves who run away get eaten,” came a sinister voice out of the dark misty night. Little Legolas jumped up at hearing the voice and ran; ran as fast as his little legs could carry him. Looking behind him, Legolas started screaming as he saw something running behind him.}

Elrond jumped at the sound of Legolas screaming. Going over to the bed he sat down on the side as he pulled the scared elf into his arms. He started rubbing his back, telling him everything would be fine. “Ada, please. Please do not let it eat me. I did not mean to run away. Ada, please save me,” Legolas sobbed as he clutched Elrond’s tunic.

“Shh,” Elrond said as he rocked the feverish, scared elf in his arms. “Nothing is going to hurt you. I am here. I will not let anything harm you.” Place a tender kiss to the top of Legolas’ head, he continued, “Here, drink this. It will make you feel better.” Elrond picked up the cup of sleep draught and put it to Legolas’ lip. After he had drunk a little, Elrond placed the cup back beside the bed. Elrond was trying to lay Legolas back down when he heard. “Ada, will you please stay with me? Protect me from the dark creature,” Legolas asked tiredly.

“Yes, little one, I will stay.” Elrond answered as he lay down beside him and pulled him farther into his arms, feeling old for the first time that someone so young and beautiful would call him Ada.

~~~~~~~~
Legolas blinked as the sun shone through the window into his eyes. Looking around he wondered where he was. Feeling the arms wrapped around him, he turned, and sucked in his breath as he stared at the face of the elf that had haunted his dreams for three centuries. Slowly he moved his arm to brush a strand of hair back from the handsome face of his secret love.
Elrond came awake as he felt his hair being moved across his face. Blinking, he smiled at the stunning creature in his arms. Placing a gentle kiss to his forehead, he asked, “How is my patient this morning?”
Legolas closed his eyes as Elrond kissed him, his mind flooded with images of the Elf Lord. “Fine, My Love,” Legolas moaned. His eyes flew open as he realized what he had said. Jumping up, he tried to get away. He wrenched at the pain that shot through his arm. “My Lord, I meant My Lord.” Legolas corrected looking away. At that moment the door opened and in walked the twins to check on their friend. Seeing the scared look on Legolas’ face and the shocked expression on their Ada’s, Elladan asked, “Is there something wrong, Ada?”
Elrond stood, saying no as he quickly made his excuses and left the room leaving his ionnath in a state of confusion as to what was wrong with their Adar. As the door closed behind him, Legolas fell back onto the bed.
Elrond headed to his chambers as the words repeated in his mind, my love, he called me his love. Making it to his chambers, he sat down in the nearest chair, his head spinning. ‘Does this mean he loves me?’ Elrond was afraid to hope that the elf he had fallen in love with dared to love him in return. He had to find out, but he had to wait till the wood elf was well enough.
~~~~~~~~~~~

Legolas moved around his new chambers. After three days of having to stay in a bed, it was nice to finally be allowed to leave a bed. His arm still pained him but it was on its way to healing. The healers assured him that he would still be able to shoot an arrow straight but he would have to practice to reach the level of accuracy he had before. Legolas turned as he heard a knock upon the door. Frowning he moved to answer the door, wondering who could be knocking as the twins would have just walked in. Shocked to see a servant stand there, he said, “Good day. How can I help you?”

“I have a message from Lord Elrond,” the servant replied, as he bowed while he handed the letter to the Prince, saying, “I am instructed to wait for your reply.”

Slowly, he unfolded the note and read:

Legolas,

I hope you are settled into your chambers. I would be honored it you would join me this evening for dinner in my chambers.

Lord Elrond

Legolas closed his eyes as he fought to control his emotions; slowly he moved over to the desk and wrote back:

It would be my pleasure to join you this evening.

Legolas

Handing the message back to the servant, he headed to ready himself for the evening.

~~~~~~~~~~
Legolas stood outside of Elrond’s chamber doors, fighting with himself. He could not believe he was going to have dinner with Elrond. A part of him wanted to run back to his chambers, while the more logical part told him that if he did not go through with this then he would always regrets it. Knocking, he waited to be let in.
Elrond paced across the room, fear welled up inside of him that maybe Legolas would not show. He smiled to himself as he heard the knock upon the door. Moving to open it, he let Legolas in. “You look beautiful tonight,” he heard himself say, shaking his head at how stupid he sounded, he moved to pull the chair out for Legolas to sit.
Legolas was amazed as the door was opened; the room was ablaze in candlelight. Looking around he noticed vases of red roses placed around the room, with pedals scattered around the table. Upon the table were two place settings with a food cart beside it with covered dishes. The smell coming from them had his mouth watering almost as much as Elrond. Elrond was dressed in similar clothes to himself, leggings and a shirt, but for some reason, on Elrond it looked so much better. Moving to take the seat offered, he smiled as Elrond moved to take his seat. “It is a beautiful evening,” Legolas said, chiding himself at how stupid he sounded.
“Yes it is,” Elrond answered as he fought to control his emotions at the sight of the beautiful elf before him. Never had he seen a more stunning sight then the one before him. Legolas was dressed like him in leggings and a shirt but on Legolas it looked so much better, especially with the front slightly unbuttoned to show the perfect flawless skin of his chest. All Elrond could think about was tasting the delectable flesh that was exposed.
“I bet it tastes delicious,” Legolas said.
“Excuse me?” Elrond asked.
“The food, I bet it tastes delicious; it smells wonderful,” Legolas explained.
“Yes it does,” Elrond replied, hoping his face was not too red.
Legolas took a drink of his wine, trying to hide the smile, as he thought to himself ‘I wonder what he was thinking’ as he noticed the blush that had spread across Elrond face.
As the night progressed the two talked and laughed. Each drinking a little more then they should. Neither wanting to ask the question on their minds; as it came time for the dessert, Legolas could hold back no more. “Elrond?” He asked.
Elrond reading the expression in the other’s eyes answered, “Yes!”
A smile spread across Legolas’ face as he moved to sit in Elrond’s lap. Running his finger through the frosting of the chocolate cake, he then ran his finger across Elrond’s lips. Bending down he kissed the chocolate off. As Elrond opened his mouth to him, he slipped his tongue into the moist wet cavity. Feeling Elrond’s arms circle around him, he felt braver and started moving, placing small soft kisses in his wake till he reached the lobe of his ear. Taking the delicate skin into his mouth his gently sucked until he heard the moan escape Elrond’s mouth. Releasing the lobe he ran the tip of his tongue along the outside of the ear before placing a kiss to the top. Grinning to himself, he proceeded to move down to the base of his neck where he took the flesh into his mouth and sucked till Elrond grabbed him by the hair.
Elrond grabbed the torturous elf by the hair with one hand as he used the other to rid the table of dishes. Laying the gorgeous blond onto the table he started to give his own form of torture.
“I want you?”
“Yes!”
“Now!”
“Yes!”
“Bed?”
Later it was not known who asked what but the two soon found themselves upon the bed unclothed. Hands found skin, as lips kissed, licked, and bit flesh. Bodies moved together in an ever-increasing need to be one. In the height of the uncontrolled force that had taking over their bodies, a clear moment emerged; leaning back Elrond looked into Legolas’ eyes as he said, “This is not a one time thing for me. If we do this it is forever.”
Legolas, trying desperately to catch his breath, answered, “You have been the only elf I have ever wanted, and you will be the only elf I will ever have.” With that, he pulled Elrond down taking his lips urging him to continue what they had started. Elrond, needing no more encouragement, started working his way down the soft creamy flesh continuing his assault on the wood elf’s senses. Only when he had the elf begging for release did he take the elf’s hard member into his mouth. Placing his arm across his waist to keep him from bucking, Elrond started an assault on the appendage that had been beseeching him for his attention.
Legolas, feeling his release build up in the pit of his stomach, tried to get Elrond’s attention, for he wanted to find release with the dark haired Lord in him. Elrond feeling the sudden change in Legolas’ emotions looked up at his future husband.
“I want you inside of me, my love,” Legolas begged breathlessly.
Elrond reached for the bottle of oil that he had put beside his bed, just in case the need should arise. “I will be gentle, my love. I will make our first time together something of memories,” he whispered as he brushed his lips across Legolas’. Taking a good portion of the oil, he gently and lovingly prepared his love. When Legolas was pleading for him to take him, he quickly slicked himself. Placing a kiss to Legolas’ lips once more, he slowly entered his soon-to-be husband.
Legolas bit back the pain that washed over him as Elrond pushed past his virgin opening. This was the moment he had been waiting for, he was now and forever Elrond’s. To him there was no place he wanted to be more than where he was. Slowly he willed himself to relax.
Elrond, feeling Legolas relax, started to move inside of his new husband’s tight body, praying that this would never end. As the two bodies moved in perfect sync their fear were torn apart only to be united again to form a new bond as they reached their completion. Elrond carefully pulled out of his new spouse; taking him in to his arms, the two fell into a peaceful sleep.
A month later the two stood before King Thranduil repeating the vows that would bind them as mates in the eyes of the law. Never had he been more proud of his ion than at that moment. Looking to the future, he hoped that the two would always be as happy as they were right now.
