Name: Vash the Stampede
AKA: Ericks, Needle Noggin, The Humanoid Typhoon
Species: Plant (See "Terminology" section)
Occupation: The $$60 Billion Man
Weapons: Boot Knife, .45 Long Colt Revolver, Hidden Gun-Arm(concealed in his left arm; shotgun at first, then upgraded to machine gun), Angel Arm(right arm; brought about by the .45 Long Colt Revolver), and later, the Cross Punisher No.2

Vash the Stampede is by nature a peace-loving, happy-go-lucky sort of person.  He however, is constantly torturing himself because of the extremely noble vow he made to Rem to never extinguish another flame of life after what happened in July City.  Rather than killing his enemies, he wounds them.  Because of this, his body is riddled with horrible and livid scars.  He is very serious about his mission to preserve life and takes on a sort of Christ-figure persona.

However, no matter how crazy or naive Vash seems to be, there is one side of him only few witness.  On occasion, a nasty, almost scary power is unleashed within him and his true ferocity and superhuman ability shows itself.  He is extremely quick and never misses his mark.

Vash is very upset by death, especially murder.  All he really wants is to forget his dark past and live in peace, but he is constantly tormented by a group of murderers hired by his brother to kill people before his very eyes and ultimately drive Vash to kill them.
Name: Nicholas D. Wolfwood
Occupation: Traveling Priest, Gunman, and... well... I will leave some things unspoiled for you...
Weapons: Cross Punisher No.1 (A huge cross that is actually a gun rack with a bunch of Grader handguns and ammo in it), Cross Punisher No.2 (Another huge cross, but instead is one huge machine gun at one end, and a rocket launcher at the other)

A traveling priest picked up by Vash and the others while on a bus ride, Nicholas D. Wolfwood is quiet some priest.  He smokes... alot, and does not at all have a problem with killing his enemies.  At least he carries around a portable confessional and runs an orphanage... well... sort of...  He also has a motorcycle which always seems to be broken that he sometimes tinkers with.

Although claiming to be a man of God, Nicholas can be quite cold and ruthless.  He saves Vash(well, if Vash ever needs saving, that is) and the others from huge gangs of enemies simply by mowing them down with seemingly no regard for their lives.  It is here that Vash and Nicholas's views collide quite frequently, and even begins to start conflict between them, although short-lived, every now and then.  There is alot more to Nicholas D. Wolfwood than meets the eye, but I'd be a dirty heartless @#%! if I didn't let you find out for yourself.
