X was created by Dr. Thomas Light around the year 20XX (actually probably closer to 21XX, because Light created the original Megaman in 20XX, X wasn't made until some time later). When Dr. Light created X, he knew that he would not live long enough to see his creation in action, so he sealed X in a capsule for 30 years to have diagnostics run on him. Light was afraid that X, having the ability to make his own decisions, would make bad ones and cause mass destruction with the great power he possesses. X was found 100 years later in the year 21XX by Dr. Cain while he was looking for fossils. Cain activated X and studied him in depth. No matter how much he studied him though, Cain could never fully understand X's inner workings and design. Light's technology was far more superior than anything he had ever seen. Cain then started building robots modeled after X's design. These robots, called "Reploids" were imperfect however, and would malfucntion and harm humans(these were called Mavericks). X later joined the Maverick Hunters after Sigma, Cain's greatest creation, went Maverick. He and Zero fought valiantly and vanquished Sigma several times. X has a big heart and wasn't really made for the job of a warrior. Dr. Light would have wanted him to live in a time of peace, but X must fight because he feels a sense of responsibility to take down the Mavericks that would not exist if not for him. However he remains compassionate, and sometimes that is a hindrance. His rank remains a Class "B" Hunter because of his emotional conflicts despite his great skill. |
