Life without dreams

They try to take away my dreams

At least that is the way it seems

They take away what to me is real

Then try to tell me what to feel

But what is life without a dream

To keep you from drowning in the stream

A lifeboat to save you, to keep you from harm

A blanket around you keeping you warm

I've always lived my life by that dream

To show me the ways that aren't what they seem

I've never been blind to the truth it could hold

I've held on to the warmth, don't make it turn cold

Now you're trying to kill my dream

But better watch out, things aren't what they seem

Keep your eyes open, for once try to see

If you kill my dream, you'll also kill me
