Hellbound:

Hellraiser II

Director: Tony Randel

Writer: Peter Atkins

Starring: Ashley Laurence and Doug Bradley

Body Count: 12 on-screen kills (total of 28)

Review: Hellbound is just as good as the original Hellraiser, if not better.
The story begins with a prelude, showing the audience how Pinhead came to be what he is--revealing the fact that the Cenobites were, at one time, humans. From there, the story starts up right after the end of the first film.
Kirsty awakens in a mental hospital, finding that no one will believe her story. No one, except for a brain surgeon who knows she is telling the truth because he has been studying the puzzle box for years. The doctor obtains the mattress that Julia died on in the first film, and sacrifices a patient to the flesh-hungry Julia.
When Kirsty learns of Julia's rebirth, she and a young girl with the incredible power to solve impossible puzzles open the gate to hell and actually find themselves within the labrynth itself.
One of the incredible things about the Hellraiser Series is that it's one of the few series where characters can die multiple deaths. In fact, almost everyone who dies in Hellbound dies more than once. There's bodies all over the place (28!), and most of them are the result of some deliciously gruesome killing. And, in true sequel fashion, the door is left open for the third installment, Hellraiser III: Hell On Earth.
